The Chiefs must also win to remain in the play-off hunt and although Patrick Mahomes put them in front with a rushing touchdown, they have been unable to maintain that momentum on offence.

The Chargers were also struggling but a touchdown drive right at the end of the first half has put them right back in it as they look to dump their divisional rivals out of post-season contention.

After reaching five of the past six Super Bowls, winning three, the Chiefs still have work to do to ensure they do not miss out on the post-season for the first time since the 2014 season.

Cincinnati must win to keep their post-season hopes alive and Joe Burrow has struggled so far, making just eight passes for 71 yards with one interception.

It will have to be some turnaround by the Bengals as Lamar Jackson has now found his groove, throwing touchdown passes on Baltimore's last two possessions of the first half to put the Ravens in charge as they look to join Pittsburgh on seven wins atop the AFC North.

    Chiefs staying alive - just

The Kansas City Chiefs need to win to avoid the chance of their season ending tonight, and they've got their noses in front in a tight divisional battle with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Bolts scored late in the half though to make it just a three-point game.

    Ravens strike late in Cincy

The Baltimore Ravens are 6-7 but still in touch with Pittsburgh, and after a tight battle with the Bengals a late touchdown just before half-time sent them in 14-0 ahead.

Defeat could be curtains for Joe Burrow's bunch.

    Patriots in total control

It's looking like a statement performance from New England so far, as only a late James Cook score got the Buffalo Bills on the board as they trail 24-7 at Foxborough.

Mike Vrabel's side can clinch the AFC East with a win tonight and they've been dominant so far.

    AFC South rivals in charge

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans both made fast starts against the Jets and Cardinals respectively and both hold handy leads at the break.

The Jags lead the division but with Houston hot on their heels. They're matching each other stride-for-stride so far.

    Eagles and Bears pitching shutouts

Chicago and Philadelphia are both flying high and almost in cruise control with both shutting out their opposition at half-time - the Bears lead Cleveland 14-0 and the Eagles are 17-0 ahead against the Raiders.

  17. touchdown

    Touchdown - Chargerspublished at 19:39 GMT 14 December 2025

Los Angeles Chargers 10-13 Kansas City Chiefs

Justin Herbert gets the ball back with 38 seconds to the half and on second down he makes a huge play to receiver Tre Harris.

The Chargers take a timeout before Herbert finds Ladd McConkey to get into the red zone and with just five seconds left, Herbert fires a 16-yard pass down the middle to a leaping KeAndre Lambert-Smith at the back of the end zone.

  18. field goal

Field goal - Commanderspublished at 19:36 GMT 14 December 2025

HT: Washington Commanders 22-7 New York Giants

An ugly end to the first half for the Giants in New York!

Jaxson Dart sends a long pass forward to get the Giants in field goal range, but it backfires. Cornerback Mike Sainristil intercepts the ball on the Commanders' 21-yard line and runs 55 yards with it before getting tackled with just seconds left in the half.

To rub further salt in the wound, Jake Moody converts a 42-yard field goal to send Washington into the break with a 15-point lead.

  19. field goal

Field goal - Chiefspublished at 19:34 GMT 14 December 2025

Los Angeles Chargers 3-13 Kansas City Chiefs

Despite a big catch and run by Xavier Worthy, the Chiefs stall short of the red zone so Harrison Butker kicks his second field goal of the day from 47 yards.

HT: Cleveland Browns 0-14 Chicago Bears

The Bears lead 14-0 in a game that has been as comfortable as you would expect for the hosts.

An area of concern will be for Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, who has just limped off the field in Chicago after ending the half with a 12-yard pass.

Williams already has 186 passing yards and a touchdown at the break and the Bears will hope it is nothing serious given the season they are having.
