We told you earlier that the men's freeski halfpipe qualifying had been postponed on Thursday because of the weather in Livigno.

It has been rescheduled for Friday from 09:30 GMT with the top 12 qualifying for the final at 18:30.

Perhaps the Canadians know that they will have a tough semi-final regardless of who they face.

Switzerland and Italy was probably more of a tense game than this. The Canadians seem to look quite relaxed.

We have a result from next door on sheet A. Czechia 10-4 Sweden - a really surprising scoreline. It's Czechia's second win ever in the Olympic games.

It might be the last we see of Niklas Edin, the reigning Olympic champion and greatest of all time. I wonder what emotions he is going through right now.

It is still to be determined whether we will see him back at future Olympic Games.

If it's Switzerland in semi-finals of curling, we've got to remember in the round robin we only lost after an extra end. Come on Team Mouat, can feel a gold medal coming!

Switzerland will be tough but Bruce and Jen sailed through the round robin only to come up short in the semi so no reason why Switzerland won't do the same.

We're not sure yet, because it depends how Norway v Canada ends up.

If Norway hold on to win, GB play unbeaten Switzerland. If they don't, it will be GB against Canada.

Either way, Bruce Mouat's men will be playing at 18:05 GMT today.

Win, and they'll be in Saturday's final (18:05). Lose, and it's the bronze-medal match on Friday (18:05).

Would obviously rather Team GB play Canada in the semis, but the fact there's a good chance they weren't even going to be there, I don't think they'll mind playing Switzerland - especially if they can play the way they did against the US.

Why does the skip have a stopwatch and what are they timing? - Katie Gray, Ireland

They are timing how long the stone takes to travel from one end of the rink to another, so they can gauge what weight to throw at in future shots. The skip - and potentially others in the team - are keeping all that information in their head and adapting their play accordingly.

Is it better for GB to have had a rest this morning if they get through to the semis? - Heather H, Manchester

Could look at that both ways. Yes, they will have been able to relax this morning, but unlike their opponents, they will not have had a chance to experience how the ice and stones are playing today. And that can change from day to day.

GB men steal four in USA win as slim semi-final hopes stay alive

Day 12 was a perfect one for Great Britain's curlers.

The men's team were comfortable winners over the USA to end with a 5-4 record, which may be enough to send them through to the semi-finals.

We're getting close to finding out anyway...

Elizabeth Davidson, from Brixham in Devon, is wondering why Bruce Mouat wore a hat all the way through the mixed doubles, but hasn't in the team events.

Well, Elizabeth, BBC Sport asked the Team GB skip. Turns out it was down to a combination of bad-hair days and the increased heat of the arena in the more heavily-populated men's matches.

Don't say we're not fearless pursuers of truth...

    Jess Anderson
    BBC Sport in Cortina

Team GB, piloted by Brad Hall, have just completed their first training session in the four-man bobsleigh.

They clocked a time of 54.97, the sixth-quickest time of the day. The three German teams are just lingering around the edge of the top 10 but they are the ones to beat here.

Hall said they were focussing on the four-man event after the two-man didn’t go to plan and they ultimately finished 12th.

    That's the skimo heats completed.

Oriol Cardona Coll of Spain looked strong as he won the first of the three heats ahead of team-mate Ot Ferrer Marrtinez with Switzerland's Jon Kistler taking heat two ahead of neutral athlete Nikita Filippov while heat three went to Arno Lietha of Switzerland with French great Thibault Anselmet overcoming a slow start to finish second.

All three heat winners led from start to finish and had a clear margin of victory at the end - hopefully we will see some exciting racing in the semi-finals which take place at 12:25 after the women's semis at 11:55.

Japan, Finland and Austria have all leapfrogged the USA [to make up the top five]. The medals will surely come from those top five nations?

    How are the nerves?

Still looking okay. Switzerland have just taken three in the seventh end to leave Italy in all sorts of bother at 7-3 down.

And over on sheet D, Canada are mounting a comeback of sorts against Norway. They're back to 7-5.

Remember, Team GB need either the Italians or Norwegians to lose if they are the reach the semis.
