Image source, Getty ImagesMarc Kennedy, who has been a central figure in Canada's men's curling campaign so far at these Winter Olympics, has been asked if his team intentionally lost this morning's final round robin match against Norway to avoid Great Britain in the semi-finals.
Canada, already qualified for the semi-finals, were beaten 8-6 - a result that allowed Norway to go through to the last four too. They will meet again in the semis this evening (18:05 GMT).
“Did you watch the game? It was a good game," Kennedy said.
“Brad [Jacobs] missed a couple of shots, and I don't know if [Norway's] Magnus [Ramsfjell] missed one. So no, no, not the case at all. We played hard. It's a little different not having Benny [Ben Hebert] out there. He's a big part of our team.
"But no, absolutely not. We were giving it everything we could to win. We're going to have to beat all the best teams to win this thing anyway. So definitely not."
While Canada face Norway this evening, Great Britain will take on Switzerland at the same time - and we'll keep you across that right here.
