At the moment, GB are playing a wonderful game.

GB have come into this game with their A game and that is all they can do.

They can't watch what is happening with Switzerland, and they have got to put all the effort into this game. When they came to the Olympics, they were the underdogs.

That was a great shot by Rebecca Morrison. It was so well controlled, she gets GB out of trouble, once again.

Another fabulous Rebecca Morrison shot - through a gap that barely looked like it existed - puts the pressure on Italy, and Stefania Constantini cannot respond. That's a steal for GB and a three-point lead.

Only problem is that the US are beating the Swiss, which would ruin everything...

'How on earth have they done that' - Morrison's miracle shot steals win for GB

It's all very nervy today with GB needing to win and hope that Switzerland beat the USA.

That's preferable to the alternative we were facing yesterday morning: that this match would mean very little.

It took a moment of brilliance from Rebecca Morrison against the US to prevent that and GB's women followed that incredible win with a more convincing victory over Japan yesterday evening.

USA are in the fourth end and they have managed to pick up one. It is still a very tight match.

Stefania Constantini, that is unlucky. The Italian skip's final stone glances a guard and skites all the way through, leaving Rebecca Morrison the chance to draw for two, which she gladly takes.

Over on the other side of the rink, the US are leading Switzerland 2-1. GB need that to change.

  11. Gaffe-ridden Olympic commentary prompts Italian TV boss to resignpublished at 14:24 GMT 19 February

    Paolo PetreccaImage source, Rai

He was the opening ceremony commentator who confused Mariah Carey with Italian actress Matilda De Angelis, and the San Siro (in Milan) with the Stadio Olimpico (in Rome).

Now Paolo Petrecca, whose gaffe-ridden commentary for Italian television went viral, has handed in his resignation.

Petrecca, the head of Rai Sport, made a litany of on-air errors broadcast to an audience of 9.2 million viewers, prompting a brief strike by news journalists.

His tenure will end at the end of the Games, and he will not be commentating on the closing ceremony.

Petrecca had been a last-minute stand-in, because the original commentator was dropped for revealing a "sensational surprise" element of the ceremony by mistake.

His performance was described one reviewer as one of Rai's bleakest ever live broadcasts, when its flagship Rai 1 channel had an audience share of more than 46%.

Worth bearing in mind here that, when Team GB won gold in this event four years ago, they squeaked into the semi-finals with a 5-4 record, which is what Rebecca Morrison's rink are aiming for.

It's been a fairly cautious opening 20 minutes from both sides in Milan.

Rebecca Morrison is statistically one of the best-performing fourths here this week and she's maintaining that standard here. A composed takeout restricts the Italians to one to level the scores.

It's poised at 1-1 between Switzerland and the US, too. GB need the Swiss to win that, remember.

BBC Sport pundit Vicky Wright reckons Team GB don't want to "get into a guddle" with Italy and that if they can stay a shot or two ahead they will be able to control the contest.

That's the first point on the board for Team GB, who take one with the hammer in the second end. Good enough.
