Japan and United States both have 59 points after seven routines. As the Japanese have top scores in five categories to two for the US, they are currently heading the leaderboard.

It is winner takes all in the men's event: 'Quad God' Ilia Malinin, then, with the final skate of the night, world number six Shun Sato for Japan.

It's a brilliant 148.62 for Kaori Sakamoto - and that means Japan go level on points with USA at the top of the overall standings.

Japan actually have the lead courtesy of having top scores in more categories than the US.

    Oh, that is brutal.

Laurie Blouin of Canada moves off the bottom of the standings in some style, scoring 77.25, but her accumulated 150.25 is 0.5 short of getting her into the top 12.

Mia Stalker of Australia makes it though - she scores 82.75 to move from 26th to sixth with a final score of 165.

Kaori Sakamoto just showed exactly why she is the number one ranked female figure skater in the world.

    A stunning routine.

Superb from Kaori Sakamota. She looks set to take the 10 points for Japan.

That would set up the decider in the men's free skating a littler later tonight.

Official scores to follow but Sakamota looks delighted and, as a three-time world champion, you'd back her to know when she's done well.

Amber Glenn looked very down as she hugged her coach after that routine. She knows she was not at her best - and she scrunches her face in disappointment as the score is announced.

The door is open ajar for Japan in this team event.

Amber Glenn doesn't look overly happily as she leaves the ice. She'll know those little errors could prove costly.

Time for the scores... 138.62. That puts her in second in this discipline and means if Kaori Sakamota can top the standings for this women's single free skating, USA and Japan will be neck-and-neck overall with one discipline remaining...

Mia Brookes immediately ran to her parents again after landing her third run.

This time, however, she took the wrong route. No problem. She planted her board down, threw off her gloves, and effortlessly leapt over the fence.

She looked absolutely ecstatic. A nearby security guard, less so.

Maisie Hill scores 57.25 with her third and final run.

The Team GB athlete was out of contention, but her accumulated score of 77.25 is enough to move her one place off the bottom of the standings.

Laurie Blouin of Canada, who now sits bottom, hasn't had her third run yet and could send Hill back to the foot of the table.

There are a fair few Pride flags in the crowd alongside the American ones, in support for Amber Glenn.

She made a nervous start though, putting her hand to the ice after her opening triple axel. She also failed to land her second element.

Confidence built as she went on, but those misses will damage her score.

Here we go then, it's time for the first of the big two in this women's discipline: Amber Glenn of the USA.

Georgia's Anastasiia Gubanova has the score to beat so far, 140.17.

Lara Naki Gutmann doesn't look overly enthused by her performance, a couple of small errors in there.

One area where she has won is in her make-up - her eyeliner looks like a shark's tail. I'm both impressed and jealous.

The big screen here bears the message "Shark mode: on".

That's because Italy's Lara Naki Gutmann is performing, to the soundtrack from Jaws.

She earned European bronze with this routine in Sheffield, and after her performance the ice was pelted with tens of Blahaj - the shark soft toy from Ikea.

The leaders have been going early in the runs, with Zoi Sadowski Synnott second out and Kokomo Murase third.

New Zealander Synott matches her second run score of 82.25, and finishes with a score of 172.25.

Japan's Murase scores 85, closing just short of her rival on 171.25.

You rather think those scores will be enough to see both qualify for the final.
