Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds will feel a bit better about things after taking those shots in the fourth end. But I wonder how the Swiss will be feeling?

They've played tremendously but are only two ahead and, don't forget, they really need to win this to maintain their semi-final hopes. How will they deal with that pressure?

The measuring stick - officially called a micrometre - never lies.

The Swiss yellow stone is closest to the centre.

Another point on the board for Yannick Schwaller and Briar Schwaller-Huerlimann. They're on roll.

Ooh that's tight. It's a great throw from Jenn Dodds as her red stone moves into the centre, knocking one yellow out of the way.

But a yellow stone remains on the button. And there's not much to separate the two.

    "That's confusing," says Bruce Mouat.

Here comes the measuring stick. Technical term, that...

Julia Simon crosses the line and it's gold for France!

What a final leg it was from her, 10 from 10 across two visits to the shooting range and some powerful skiing to leave the chasing pack trailing well behind.

High fives on the final stretch to the finish line. A dominant win for the French quartet.

The huge crowd that have come out to watch this are delighted to see Lisa Vittozzi bring home the silver medal for Italy after more great shooting.

Norway and Germany both struggled, though. One penalty loop for Germany but two for Norway and so it is Germany who come through to take bronze.

Further to curling snacks, did you know that Team GB's 2022 women's gold was fuelled by sweets?

"I nailed sour Skittles all the way through the Olympics in Beijing," confesses BBC pundit Vicky Wright.

"I had them in my pocket for every match so no matter how bad the curling was, they’d cheer me up. And if any of the girls were getting hungry, they’d put their hand in my pocket and get one."

It is all about the battle for silver and bronze now...

Bruce Mouat's snacks are lying just in front of me. Water, energy drink and bar, and dried mango. Strong choice.

I’ve spoken to the curlers about this very subject before and the thing most of them take with them on to the ice are Squares bars. You know, those marshmallow cereal things?

    A strong end by Switzerland.

GB have the hammer, but the Swiss team have four yellow stones on the button before Jen Dodds throws the final stone of the end.

It's a case of damage limitation for Bruce Mouat and Dodds and they clip their own red stone to split the yellows. They can't get rid of them all though, with two of the Swiss stones remaining right at the centre of the house.

Sensational from Julia Simon - and France maintain a big lead!

It's up to 19.3 seconds after a flawless visit to the range from Simon. Not giving the chase pack any chance to make up some ground.

Italy are up to second after a similarly excellent prone shooting visit from Lisa Vittozzi.

Germany are third, nearly 25 seconds back from the lead, with Norway a further four seconds behind now.

Well, this is all much more relaxed than it might have been.

Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds are under way in their penultimate round-robin match knowing they have already confirmed their place in the semi-finals.

Sure, they will want to maintain their unbeaten record and secure the top ranking, but they'll be trying to do so without the pressure that is upon the Swiss, who are still scrapping to finish in the top four.

GB's Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds have played seven matches so far and they've got two to go.

Each team plays nine matches, facing all the other teams once.

The top four ranked teams after the round robin qualify for the semi-finals, with the winning semi-finalists going on to play for gold.

The British pair will be keen to continue their unbeaten run but there is no longer the pressure of semi-final qualification on their shoulders.

This could be a brilliant finish!

A superb third leg from Lou Jeanmonnot has given France a lead of 18.4 seconds going into the fourth and final leg.

Norway, Germany and Italy arrive at the line at pretty much the same time. They've got a lot of work to do to catch France, who have Julia Simon on the anchor leg, now.

The shooting could be all important.
