Germany absolutely smashed the start record. Johannes Lochner's boys mean business.

It's almost like this track has been built for Lochner personally. It suits his style, it suits his technique and his equipment.

    A great first run.

Well Team GB seem happy with that. There were fists pumping and banging on the sled as they came up the finish straight.

They’re well and truly off the mark and up and running in Cortina.

They’ve had injury problems in the build up to this and sacrificed the two-man event to put all their focus on this one.

We know they’re capable of getting amongst the German teams and they’ve done just that here.

That was a really good drive from Brad - the team did what they needed to do at the top, started within a comfortable distance and it allowed Brad to out-drive Adam Ammour which he should be able to do.

    Good job boys.

  6. Hall and co make a promising startpublished at 09:08 GMT 21 February

Brad Hall guides the Team GB sled to a time of 53.91 seconds.

It's 0.48 seconds behind Johannes Lochner and into third.

But still a long time to go in this run.

    Here we go then.

The Games are almost over but the four-man bobsleigh is one of the big events people look forward to.

Team GB have a decent chance of a medal if they can put their best out there. It’s the German teams they need to beat if they are to do that.
