Team GB's Mateo Jeannesson finished moguls qualification in 28th place, after skiing out early on in his run.

While only the top 10 progress to the final today, he will get another shot in the second round of qualification on Thursday.

"It's pretty tough, I wanted to put a good run down, but I've had a pretty difficult season, I've battled with an injury on my foot so I'm glad to be here," he told me.

"I'll try my best [on Thursday], hopefully it will be better conditions with the light."

Great Britain are making fewer mistakes today.

I'm actually fine with them swapping 1s at the moment because they just need to settle into the game.

The game will be won if they play like this in the latter half of the match because that's when everyone will be comfortable with the ice and with their throwing.

Emma Aicher puts her pairing in the lead!

The German, in a team with Keira Weidle-Winkelmann, puts in the day's best slalom run with 44.38.

Katharina Truppe of Austria follows her down the slope, coming across the line in 45.08 - that's the 11th best slalom of the day, but puts her pairing in second.

Flury and Holdener of Switzerland still hold the bronze position.

Jen Dodds had a fairly simple final throw and she positioned it beautifully near the button.

But up stepped the Italians, and Stefania Constantini managed to get her stone right on the button to give Italy the point.

So after three ends, Italy lead 2-1.

Great Britain have the hammer in the fourth end.

An excellent Jen Dodds limited the Italians to one there. That's no bad thing. Keeps it nice and tight.

Absolute travesty if Bruce and Jen don't win a medal after round robin, but feels like they're battling nerves as much as opposition. There's been some really errant shots in the last 24 hours which we haven't seen until yesterday.

Makayla Gerken Schofield raises both poles after completing her run. A couple of nice back flips in there.

A score of 66.38 puts her in seventh place with 17 skiers to come.

The brilliant thing about this event is that things can change drastically between each event.

For example, in the men's competition yesterday, Austria's Vincent Kriechmayr finished seventh in the downhill event.

But his team-mate Manuel Feller put down the second-fastest slalom time to grab a shared silver medal.

It can swing the other way, though.

Marco Odermatt was the third-fastest skier in downhill, but Loic Mellard's 15th-placed finish in the slalom meant a joint silver medal might have come as a disappointment for the Swiss duo.

With so many medal events on, it can be easy to forget about the ice hockey until the latter stages.

There are four women's preliminary matches in Milan today, including what is expected to be a dress rehearsal for the final between Canada and the US.

    • RESULT: Japan 0-4 Sweden
    • Italy v Germany (15:40)
    • Canada v United States (19:10)
    • Finland v Switzerland (20:10)

It's time for Great Britain's Makayla Gerken Schofield in the women's mogul qualification.

The 26-year-old is the 12th skier onto the course with defending champion Jakara Anthony leading the way with 81.65 points.

Remember, the top 10 go straight through to Wednesday's final with another 10 qualification spots up for grabs on Wednesday.

Gerken Schofield hasn't finished inside the top 20 of a World Cup event this season. Fingers crossed she's been saving her best for Milan-Cortina!

A few reinforcements have come in today for Great Britain. I expect the noise to increase as the game goes on.

We have seen a little difference in strategy from Italy in the first few exchanges here. They are being a bit more aggressive, playing more draws and trying to get the stone in front of the tee line first.

Jasmine Flurry teaming up with Wendy Holdener and Corinne Suter with Camille Rast - Rast is the only skier to beat USA's Mikaela Shiffrin in slalom this season.

With 10 slalom runs to go, Switzerland currently hold two places on the podium.

Wendy Holdener's 44.41 puts her top alongside Jasmine Flury, while Camille Rast's 44.80 sees her pairing with Corinne Suter sit third.

In between them is Marion Chevrier and Laura Gauche on France, with the former putting in a time of 44.87 in the slalom.

This event is currently on iPlayer and Red Button, so tune in between curling ends!

Big performance needed from our duo this afternoon. Their positivity and belief is admirable, but they’ll know yesterday wasn’t good enough and failing to earn a medal would most likely be seen as a failure. It will be interesting to see how Bruce and Jen handle the Italian crowd, but they deserve something after all their Olympic heartbreak.

Great Britain have pulled one back and we are level at 1-1 after the second end.

Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat will be disappointed that they have only scored one in that second end because they had the opportunity to take the lead with two.

But there's still a while to go yet.

Great Britain need to play very aggressively here. They need to take their chances when they get them.

They are currently creating the reds in-house to try and score a big end, but it just takes one freeze from the opposition and it gets much more difficult to score high.

Jen Dodds consoled herself with ice cream after losing the semi-final in this event four years ago. And she reached into the freezer again last night.

It seems to have helped because the word is that the mood in the Team GB camp was buoyant once they got over the disappointment of defeat.

They've won eight of their 10 matches here this week. One more, and they'll get the medal they crave.
