  1. GB's Gerken Schofield 18th in qualifyingpublished at 14:13 GMT 10 February

    Women's moguls qualifying

That's a wrap on the first women's moguls qualifying round with the top 10 advancing straight to the final.

Reigning champion Jakara Anthony led the way with 81.65 points, with Americans Elizabeth Lemley (80.95) and Olivia Giaccio (80.74) in second and third place, respectively.

Great Britain's Makayla Gerken Schofield (66.38) finished in 18th place - she'll be back on Wednesday for the second qualifying round.

If she can repeat that run, she'll be firmly in the mix for one of the remaining 10 spots in the final.

We are about to find out whether Italy will choose to use their power play here or not.

They tend to use it for the final ends, but they could bring it out earlier with three ends to go.

What a close match this is.

Stefania Constantini bumped off one Team GB's stones with her final shot, but GB had the hammer and Jen Dodds earns Team GB a point.

    It's 3-2. Anyone else stressed?

Callum next to me has just described GB's next five minutes as "crucial", I would say it's squeaky-bum time.

All eyes are on what the Italian's are about to do next with their last stone of this fifth end.

I had a go at curling in Vancouver. It was monstrously hard. I pulled two muscles and, as for sweeping the ice, that was SO hard. I couldn’t stop laughing - such fun! I was ashamed to have ever thought it was easy. The Olympic junior team were practicing next to us. Embarrassing!

Italy have been playing their weights on the lighter side. They have been getting control at the top of the four-foot.

Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat have just been overthrowing ever-so slightly, we're talking one or two feet, but that makes all the difference in the mixed doubles.

  9. Gerken Schofield 'focusing on having fun'published at 14:00 GMT 10 February

Tricky conditions out there for Makayla Gerken Schofield, a really flat light - you can barely see the tops of the mountains - and a sprinkling of snow falling.

I grabbed a quick chat with her in the mixed zone after her run.

"I really enjoyed it, and that's what I'm trying to focus on - having fun," she said.

"It's really nice course, and I'm really enjoying skiing it right now."

On the differences between this Olympics, and her first, the Covid-affected Games in 2022, she said: "I'm not going to lie, I was a bit overwhelmed at some points.

"I'm just super grateful to be here and have my family here. It's incredible.

"I'm really hoping to be in the final, but I'm trying not to focus too much on results, and just have fun."

Great Britain have been so close in this match, but Jen Dodds is having to play a big shot every end and they are just not making it.

She has being playing her last shots so well all week. That focus she needs to get it right is there, but she is literally coming up just short each time. It was the same case last night.

    Gold medal - Johan-Olav Botn (Norway)published at 13:57 GMT 10 February

    Biathlon - men’s 20km

It's biathlon gold for Norway's Johan-Olav Botn - their third of the day!

What an image that is. He's frothing at the mouth as he crosses the finish line and it's almost frozen over. That just shows how gruelling it is out there in the biathlon.

That will only make the victory all the sweeter.

His time is 14.8 seconds faster than world champion Eric Perrot, who takes silver, while Norway's Sturla Holm Laegreid gets the bronze.

Jen Dodds is so close to getting them right ... let's hope she can improve on those fine margins going into the fifth end.

The good thing about mixed doubles is that you can easily pick up a three sometimes. That's why the game is designed like this.

Great Britain are going to have to get that draw away and get the corner freezes on the stone just to give themselves an opportunity to score a multiple.

Is it just me that feels like this bronze-medal match is going slower? Maybe it's because there's a medal at stake.

All our eyes are glued on Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat.

Dodds went for a risky final wide hit to dislodge the guard. It did hit, but it just didn't curl enough.

Italy are now leading Great Britain 3-1 at the half-way stage.

It's fourth for Mikaela Shiffrin and the USA - that means Austria take the gold!

The USA star crosses the line in 45.38, the 15th best run in today's slaloms.

Her team-mate Breezy Johnson was fastest in the downhill, and their combined time is 2:21.97 - 0.06 seconds slower than compatriots Paula Moltzan and Jacqueline Wiles in the bronze medal position.

Katharina Huber and Ariane Raedler of Austria win with a combined time of 2:21.66, while Emma Aicher and Keira Weidle-Winkelmann seal silver with 2:21.71.

Alpine skiing - women's team combined

Mikaela Shiffrin made her Olympic debut at Sochi in 2014 and instantly became a skiing sensation when she won slalom gold.

She followed that up with a gold in giant slalom in 2018, along with a silver in the individual combined event, but things didn't go so well at Beijing in 2022.

Shiffrin registered DNFs (did not finish) in the slalom, giant slalom and combined event, while she came ninth in Super-G and 18th in downhill.

Can the 30-year-old get back on the podium today? Her partner in the combined event, Breezy Johnson, led the way in the downhill with a time of 1:36.59, now Shiffrin will look to seal a medal in the slalom.

Katharina Huber of Austria is up next - what she can do?

It's 45.01 - the 10th best of the day, but enough to put her team top!

Just Mikaela Shiffrin to go - can she take that gold medal position for the USA?
