We're back under way in the moguls, with Makayla Gerken Schofield in action for Great Britain in the women's event.

This is her second Olympics, having made her debut four years ago in Beijing where she achieved GB's best ever moguls finish with eighth.

Know your moguls and the Gerken Schofield surname is one you'll know well. Both her elder siblings, twins Thomas and Leonie, represented GB in moguls skiing, and Leonie competed alongside Makayla in Beijing.

It’s a really small crowd here at the moguls park. Let’s hope they’re loud.

How do we think the Italians are feeling today?

They came in here as defending Olympic and world champions, and are playing on the ice where Stefania Constantini learned to play the sport.

Gold was their aim. Now they are scrapping for bronze. What kind of pressure does that bring?

    Women's moguls qualifying

Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds aren't the only Brits in action with Makayla Gerken Schofield coming up in the freestyle skiing women's mogul qualification, which has just got under way.

She's one of 30 athletes taking part in the initial qualifying round, with the top 10 progressing to Wednesday's final.

The remaining 20 will do a second qualifying run on Wednesday, with the top 10 also advancing to the final.

Speed, style, and height are key as skiers head down a bumpy 225m downhill course, featuring two jumps, and are scored out of 100 for their efforts.

Jakara Anthony is the favourite as she bids to become the first Australian to win two Winter gold medals but there's also a sizeable American contingent, headlined by Jaelin Kauf and Tess Johnson.

Team GB’s Jacques Jefferies is into his third lap of the 4km track here at the biathlon arena.

He’s missed one of his five shots on both visits to the range so far and that incurs a one-minute penalty.

Having set off 21st he’s holding his own and managing to stay inside the top 30 in a packed 80-strong field.

The French are the ones to watch here with Quentin Maillet looking to defend his gold medal from four years ago.

I really want to see Great Britain play a bit more like they were in the round robin.

I want to see them pushing themselves like they are the best team in the world, because they really are. We saw that throughout the round robin.

But the feel and the communication was different yesterday. There was a lot of indecision and some desperate tactical pauses at the change of ends. They just need to stay calm here.

A difficult final throw for Jen Dodds this. Italy have a yellow stone on the button, sandwiched between two reds.

    What can she do here?

Not much. She gets a touch on the yellow, but it's not enough and Italy steal in the very first end. 1-0 to the hosts.

So here we go, a second chance for Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat to claim Team GB's first medal of these Games.

The Scottish duo were overwhelmed by Sweden in Monday's semi-final to leave them having to beat the hosts if they are to avoid the same fate as four years ago in Beijing, by finishing fourth.

GB and Italy are very evenly-matched - the Italians edged the world final between the two last year but the British won their round-robin encounter here on Sunday.

The crowd will be backing Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner, obviously, but the decisive factor may well be who responds best to their last-four disappointment.

He will no doubt be disappointed by his final performance in which he only had one clean run.

But one is all you need as his score of 85.75 was enough to secure silver.

It was his first run's score of 86.28 that proved to be unbeatable.
