  4. 'It has definitely upset Fery's rhythm'published at 14:51 BST 4 July

I have absolutely no idea what Arthur Fery's nose bleeds are related to. He had exactly the same thing in his last match, but before the physio could reach the court he said he was fine and he ended up playing one of the best matches of his life.

This time he had the doctor and physio come out on court. It has definitely upset his rhythm. It just feels like he hasn't quite got going in this match, maybe he needs a reset.

  5. Fourth deucepublished at 14:51 BST 4 July

    Bergs 5-1 Fery*

Huge cheers as Arthur Fery gets his first ace of the match. Can he wrap up the hold this time?

    Nope.

Fery steps into the court but leaves a huge space in the corner and Zizou Bergs finds it.

    Bergs 5-1 Fery*

Arthur Fery switches up the approach on his serve - whipping one out wide - and it pays off.

  8. Second deucepublished at 14:49 BST 4 July

    Bergs 5-1 Fery*

A rare unforced error from Zizou Bergs sees the ball crash off the rim of his racquet and wide to hand over advantage.

Arthur Fery can't take advantage of the opportunity to get his first hold.

    Bergs 5-1 Fery*

Zizou Bergs hits his 14th winner of this opening set - Arthur Fery has only hit one so far - to lead 30-15 but the Belgian is caught out by an awkward spin on the next point.

Fery comes up good with a drop shot to move within a point of the hold but Bergs wants this set wrapped up and smashes a volley for deuce.

  11. 'A huge victory'published at 14:47 BST 4 July

    Mertens 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 Rybakina

    Maz Farookhi
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

That's the ace, the point, the game and the match for Elise Mertens!

She had never beaten a top-10 player on grass before today. It is a huge victory for her.

The 2026 Australian Open champion and the winner here at Wimbledon four years ago, Elena Rybakina, has been well-beaten in straight sets.

  12. Tie-breakpublished at 14:47 BST 4 July

    *Eala 6-6 Swiatek

We're going to a tie-break in this first set after Iga Swiatek holds

There had briefly been a chance for Alexandra Eala as Swiatek got a drive volley all wrong to make it 15-30.

But the defending champion pulls through, staying in the rally before pouncing an any minor error from Eala with with some clean hitting.

  13. Mertens ends losing streakpublished at 14:46 BST 4 July

    Mertens 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 Rybakina

Elise Mertens came into that match having lost seven of her eight matches against Elena Rybakina, but what a performance from the Belgian 25th seed.

Rybakina was far from her best but take nothing away from Mertens, who has equalled her best ever run at Wimbledon by making the fourth round.

A roar from Elise Mertens as Elena Rybakina's wayward backhand offers another match point but the second seed fends it off once again.

With the game going past the eight-minute mark and after saving a couple of break points, Mertens brings up another match point as Rybakina spoons a forehand wide.

This time Mertens secures it with an ace and the Belgian 25th seed is into the fourth round.

That's the shock of the day so far as Kazakhstani second seed and former champion Rybakina exits the tournament.

  15. Bergs holdspublished at 14:44 BST 4 July

    Bergs 5-1 Fery*

It's clearly not looking good for Arthur Fery but he can take some comfort in the fact that he's come from a set down in his previous two matches to earn victory. Looks like he's going to have to do that again.

Fery trails 30-0 but forces his way back into the game and gets to 30-30 as he changes his approach - finally stepping up the court off the baseline.

A big Bergs body serve seals the hold. It's over to Fery to serve to stay in the set.

  16. 'Does not look a good match-up'published at 14:43 BST 4 July

    *Bergs 4-1 Fery

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC One

I don't think Fery is playing at his best by any means. But I think a lot of that is from his opponent.

The striking of ball is so clean, and if Fery doesn't choose the right shot then he is on then he is on the backfoot from the very start of the rally.

Bergs does get free points on his serve and Fery doesn't, so at the moment it doesn't look a good match-up.

But it is five sets and it it is still early days.

    Eala 6-5 Swiatek*

    Amy Lofthouse
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

This match is very watchable, with both players producing some good stuff and some distinctly, er, scrappier stuff.

There’s a huge cheer from the Centre Court crowd as Alexandra Eala battles her way to that hold. And let’s face it, this Iga Swiatek game could go either way…

It is time Fery sorted these nose bleeds out. He has one every match, and it was happening before Wimbledon too. It must be a real distraction for him knowing one is coming at some point during his matches.

  19. Eala saves break pointpublished at 14:41 BST 4 July

    Eala 6-5 Swiatek*

Iga Swiatek is finding her groove now but Alexandra Eala is holding her own.

A brilliant cross-court just clips the line to put her up 15-30 but the Polish third seed then puts a volley into the net. Deuce.

Eala is giving as good as she's getting, though, and gets the game point. But Swiatek saves that then earns a break point.

That's saved as Eala thunders a big serve down the middle and does enough to secure the hold.

  20. Bergs earns double breakpublished at 14:41 BST 4 July

    *Bergs 4-1 Fery

Zizou Bergs breaks at the first opportunity and wins his fourth successive game.

The Belgian is running away with this set. One-way traffic.
