The person in Iga Swiatek's box that is saying the most is psychologist Daria Abramowicz. She has been on her team the longest, but usually you would look for the primary coach to say something in these moments.

  4. Bergs holdspublished at 14:24 BST 4 July

    Bergs 1-1 Fery*

Arthur Fery builds on that battling hold to put a little pressure on the Zizou Bergs serve - he leads 30-0.

It's a good response from Bergs, though, as the Belgian gets to 40-30 and then shows good court awareness to leave Fery's return. It proves to be a good call when the Briton's backhand drops into the tramlines.

  5. Bergs 'kept snuffing' game points outpublished at 14:23 BST 4 July

    Kyle Edmund
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

Zizou Bergs is coming in off the back of one of his best career wins at Eastbourne, winning the ATP 250 tour event down there.

Straight away we are seeing the quality he has and the form he is in because Arthur Fery had a few game points in that opener and he just kept snuffing them out.

This is setting up to be a very interesting match.

These days they have a really good support cast around them to block you from it [the noise]. In the old days you would be barraged by the press and it could get to you, but you don't have that so much these days.

But it depends on the personality, Fery seems like the kind of 'one match at a time' and just get on with it type of player.

What a return that was from Alexandra Eala!

Iga Swiatek was furious with herself and her team. She took a long time before Eala could start her service game, but it’s just been so messy so far from the defending champion.

    *Eala 5-3 Swiatek

Alexandra Eala will serve for the first set!

It is already very clear what Iga Swiatek needs to do to here. Once she gets her first serve in, things get very tricky for Eala.

But that isn't happening anywhere near often enough and Eala is taking full advantage.

Having earned a break point, she lands the ball right on the baseline and Swiatek skews the ball into the stands.

    Nick Lester
Former British tennis player on BBC One

Bergs' major record in recent years has been relatively poor. There has been a lot of early exits in the grand slams.

In fact, five of the past six majors he has lost in the opening round, so this has come at a good time for him.

Far from a straightforward start for the Briton.

Alexandra Eala is really taking it to the third seed, especially when she gets a look at the second serve.

But Swiatek, having got back to 30-30 with a pair of superb backhand winners, produces a couple of big serves to level it up.
