    Eala 7-6 (11-9) 2-0 Swiatek*

    Great stuff from Alexandra Eala.

A couple of aces help her hold to 30 and consolidate the break.

The defending champion is really up against it now.

  2. Paolini into fourth roundpublished at 15:17 BST 4 July

    Paolini 6-1 6-2 Sakkari

Italian 13th seed Jasmine Paolini is safely into the fourth round after a comfortable victory over Greece's Maria Sakkari.

Paolini, a finalist at Wimbledon in 2024, won 6-1 6-2 inside one hour and six minutes.

She will face Czech 29th seed Alexandra Eala in the fourth round, unless defending champion Iga Swiatek can fight back from being a set and a break down on Centre Court.

    *Bergs 6-2 2-1 Fery

Arthur Fery is in trouble on second serve and a slower delivery hands Zizou Bergs a golden opportunity.

The Belgian seizes on that chance.

  4. 'Awkward stuff coming at him'published at 15:16 BST 4 July

Such a good job to mange the point Fery because there was a lot of awkward stuff coming at him. Then set himself up for a volley into the open court and looked like he lost his grip there.

  5. Break point Bergspublished at 15:15 BST 4 July

Zizou Bergs is eyeing an early break in the second set after Arthur Fery puts into the net.

    Bergs 6-2 1-1 Fery*

The crowd on court 18 rise to their feet as Arthur Fery shows great defence, sliding along the baseline to hit a backhand return before stepping up the court to hit a lob winner for 30-30.

Fery shows his frustration for the first time in the match with a big scream when he puts into the net for deuce.

A furious swiping gesture from Iga Swiatek as she’s broken to love in her first service game. Her forehand has properly gone off the boil, just as Alexandra Eala lifted her game and her defence to go up an early break.

What a start to the second set for Alexandra Eala!

The 21-year-old Filipino breaks to love. Given how frustrated Iga Swiatek was at the end of that tie-break, that service game is not going to help her mood.

A fantastic tie-break by Eala! That was an incredible set of tennis by them both! Swiatek needs to compose herself now if she wants to win.

On Arthur Fery's nose bleeds, it is assumed they are caused by the emotional tension which playing at Wimbledon brings.

Heightened senses can bring surge in blood pressure and, although Fery is not exactly sure this is the reason, he’s planning to get the issue checked out after Wimbledon.

"There is a plan in place for after the tournament to have a look at that issue because, during the tournament now, it's not going to happen," Alex Ward, a LTA coach who is part of Fery’s team, told British reporters yesterday.

"We’re going to try and get that sorted."

It was one-way traffic in the first set so Arthur Fery will be looking to get himself into the match early on in this second set. The chances aren't coming very often, but when they do he has got to take them.

It’s 10pm in Manila and I can guarantee almost everyone will be watching this match.

Alexandra Eala is a huge star in the Philippines, something that brings its own pressure to perform, but she has handled it beautifully today.

Still, Iga Swiatek won’t go down without a fight.

  13. Bergs holdspublished at 15:10 BST 4 July

    Bergs 6-2 1-1 Fery*

Zizou Bergs swiftly gets it back to deuce and then closes in on the hold after Arthur Fery puts into the net.

Bergs completes the recovery with a lovely backhand winner.

Fresh from winning his first Grand Slam title at the French Open, Alexander Zverev is looking to capitalise on that momentum with a deep run at Wimbledon.

Standing between second seed Zverev and the fourth round is American Marcos Giron.

Zverev has won all four previous meetings with Giron and will look to make that five in a row as they step out on Court One.

Court 18 sits right next to Henman Hill - or Murray Mound if you prefer - and there was a massive roar just a few minutes ago.

I’m guessing that was for Alexandra Eala and not Zizou Bergs.

  16. Break point Ferypublished at 15:08 BST 4 July

    *Bergs 6-2 0-1 Fery

Arthur Fery keeps that momentum going as he wins the first two points on Zizou Bergs' service game. But he was in this position on a couple of occasions in the opening set and it's a familiar story as Bergs gets to 30-30.

    Ah.

A double fault and Fery has his first look at break point.

Both players headed off court after that first set. No wonder after an hour and 24 minutes of brutal tennis.

Neither player was willing to give an inch. Can they do it all again in the second (and maybe a third) set?

    I certainly hope so!

There’s one lone Zizou Bergs fan standing up on the balcony that overlooks Court 18, waving a Belgian flag. She’s the only one cheering as Arthur Fery loses the first set.

  19. Fery holdspublished at 15:07 BST 4 July

    *Bergs 6-2 0-1 Fery

Right, time for Arthur Fery to dust himself down and forget about that first set.

He managed to get his first hold at the late in that opening set and he takes on board some instructions from his coaches.

Fery listens and it works to his advantage as he gets a hold to love. That's huge for his confidence!

  20. 'Tough to see how Fery will hurt Bergs'published at 15:06 BST 4 July

    Bergs 6-2 0-0 Fery*

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC One

At the moment, it is tough to see how Fery will hurt Bergs.

He has to be much more accurate on the serves. Go to put him in awkward positions more with groundstrokes. His spots have got to be much better.
