Very routine from the world number one.

Jannik Sinner with a hold to love to keep the scoreboard pressure on Jenson Brooksby.

There seems to be more and more belief in the Arthur Rinderknech camp.

They say net cords even themselves out, but I'm not sure I would agree with that. The net cords at deuce are very different from net cords at 40-0.

  3. Hurkacz back level but Jodar on brink of exitpublished at 16:36 BST 3 July

Poland's Hubert Hurkacz, a former Wimbledon semi-finalist, has won a second-set tie-break to level his match against American 21st seed Tommy Paul at one set all.

Meanwhile, Rafael Jodar might be about to follow another highly-rated youngster out of the tournament, following Joao Fonseca's defeat earlier.

Spaniard Jodar is two sets to one down against Japanese qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki and is serving to stay in the match at 5-3 down in the fourth.

Rinderknech is loving every single minute of this match now. The first point of the game, it was Djokovic that missed the dropshot over the net, that was the turning point.

  5. Rinderknech holds to lovepublished at 16:35 BST 3 July

    Rinderknech 5-7 4-6 6-1 5-5 Djokovic*

Both players are putting on a show! Arthur Rinderknech follows a second serve into the net, blocks one return and then uses his full 6ft 5 frame for a backhand smash which allows him to retreat to the baseline and reset. Djokovic sends his forehand wide. 30-0.

Then, he drop-shots Djokovic from behind the baseline. The Serb chases it down, sends his reply short and cross-court, but the Frenchman is quickly up to it and hits a winner back at the same angle.

Big first serve. Hold. Breathless stuff.

  6. Brooksby holdspublished at 16:35 BST 3 July

    *Sinner 6-4 6-3 3-3 Brooksby

Jenson Brooksby has played some really good tennis at the net but it just hasn't come often enough. He gets to 40-0 after creeping forwards and slice volleying a winner.

The hold to 15 is sealed when Jannik Sinner cuts Brooksby's drop shot into the net.

  7. Struff holdspublished at 16:35 BST 3 July

    Struff 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-5) 2-3 Medvedev*

Even when Daniil Medvedev hits an unreturnable serve he still looks annoyed.

Jan-Lennard Struff takes him to deuce but the eighth seed comes through the game to hold.

Nice and easy for Struff on his own serve, though. A double fault stops him holding it to love, but no more issues and the German remains a break down in this third set.

  8. 'Djokovic can go T, wide or body'published at 16:34 BST 3 July

The serve isn't a shot Novak Djokovic is known for compared to everything else in his game, but my word it is accurate. I can confidently say that because I've faced it myself.

His serve quality in this fourth set is sitting at 9.4. After losing the third set 6-1, you've got to go back to basics and the serve is the only shot in the game where you aren't reacting to your opponent.

It is such a simple technique. The ball toss is in the same place but he can go T, wide or body and that's what makes it extremely hard to return.

  9. Sinner holdspublished at 16:31 BST 3 July

Jenson Brooksby looks to steal a couple of yards up the court but Jannik Sinner is so aware and punishes the American with a lob. Brooksby turns back to the baseline with a little smile on his face.

Sinner wraps up the hold to 15 with a whipped forehand into the corner.

Pressure on Arthur Rinderknech now, who is serving to stay in the match.

Jenson Brooksby hasn't enjoyed too many routine service games across this match but he gets over the line to love here.

It's probably too little too late but takes off a tiny bit of pressure.

Novak Djokovic’s supporters are becoming increasingly vocal as they urge him on to a big finish here.

The Serb’s name is chanted louder and louder as he battles to 15-30 on Arthur Rinderknech’s serve.

The crowd, who were asked to settle down at the start of this game, are completely engrossed in this and many jump to their feet to applaud the Frenchman as he comes out on top of a breathless rally to hold serve. This really has developed into a brilliant contest.

  15. Medvedev a break uppublished at 16:28 BST 3 July

    Struff 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-5) 1-2 Medvedev*

Daniil Medvedev seems to be channelling his frustration more into his tennis now.

He bounces back from dropping that second set to break in the very first game of the first.

Jan-Lennard Struff is still putting the eighth seed under pressure but Medvedev backs up the break.

Chuntering away to his support box, Medvedev continues to show his annoyance as he misses a chance for a double-break, but wow, he brings up another hitting a return around the net post!

Two more chances gets snuffed out by Struff and it stays at just the one break.

  16. Rinderknech holdspublished at 16:27 BST 3 July

    Rinderknech 5-7 4-6 6-1 4-4 Djokovic*

Novak Djokovic wins the opening point, prompting sections of the crowd to erupt into raucous chanting. They sense a swing in momentum.

A stroke of luck gets Arthur Rinderknech back on level terms, his drop shot clipping the net cord and dribbling over.

Down 15-30, Rinderknech relocates his first serve. Textbook serve and volley. Ace.

And then... chaos, magic, I don't know. Djokovic thinks he's won it with a drop shot but Rinderknech lurches forward, whips his forehand, chases back to the baseline, lobs Djokovic, and looks on in disbelief as Djokovic sends a backhand long a few strokes later. What a point. What a recovery.

  17. Sinner holdspublished at 16:24 BST 3 July

There is always pressure when you're serving against Novak Djokovic, but I feel he has steadied the ship and will be looking to put more pressure on Arthur Rinderknech's serve right now.
