  1. Mensik breakspublished at 20:36 BST 2 July

    *Mensik 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 5-7 1-0 Dimitrov

That's exactly why Grigor Dimitrov was complaining about the decision to close the roof between sets. The Bulgarian's momentum has been completely rocked by the lengthy stoppage on court.

Jakub Mensik takes full advantage of the situation though, immediately opening up two break points and forcing Dimitrov to make the unforced error at 30-40.

Perfect for Mensik. Irritating for Dimitrov.

  2. Boulter/Watson beaten in doublespublished at 20:30 BST 2 July

    Boulter/Watson 4-6 7-6 (12-10) 3-6 Piter/Siskova

All-British duo Katie Boulter and Heather Watson have been knocked out in the first round of the women's doubles, in three sets.

The pair took a second-set tie-break to level and then broke early in the decider, but spurned three break points to go 3-0 up and went on to be broken twice by Katarzyna Piter and Anna Siskova.

It's not been a good day for the Brits in the women's doubles, with four other British pairs and 12th seed Olivia Nicholls (partnering Slovakia's Tereza Mihalikova) all falling at the first hurdle.

Tiafoe will be happy that he came through that match effectively.

There's definitely things he needs to look out for though. I think he'll admit that the first set was not his best. It was almost the kick in the backside he needed.

  4. Game and third set - Dimitrovpublished at 20:28 BST 2 July

    Mensik 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 5-7 0-0 Dimitrov*

Grigor Dimitrov takes the third set! The 35-year-old isn't in the mood for taking any extra time on court these days, and who can blame him?

Highlights included a flick of the wrist to beat Mensik at the net with a blistering forehand for 0-15 and a one-handed backhand that caught Mensik off-guard for 15-40.

He is really working his opponent around the court, it is like a game of cat and mouse at times.

There's a bit of commotion between sets though because the roof is being closed on court one, much to Dimitrov's dislike. He asks the umpire: 'We knew we weren't going to finish the match, so why didn't we start closing the roof during the set?'

The 17th seed is through to the third round where he'll face 10th seed Alexander Bublik for a spot in the second week.

Jan Choinski becomes the latest Brit to fall. He was so competitive for three sets but couldn't keep pace in the fourth.

Frances Tiafoe has three break points at his disposal, he only needs one.

Jan Choinski hands him the break with a forehand unforced error but Tiafoe's return dominance has set up this emphatic race through the fourth set.

  8. Break points Tiafoepublished at 20:24 BST 2 July

    Tiafoe 4-6 6-2 7-5 4-2 Choinski*

Everything is going Frances Tiafoe's way. With almost no back swing, he pings a backhand return off a good serve and the ball nestles in the corner of the court, leaving Jan Choinski flat-footed.

Three break points for the American.

Frances Tiafoe is just starting to impose himself here. Unfortunately for Jan Choinski, the small opportunity he had late in set three obviously didn't go his way and that had a real heavy impact on him.

It isn't out of the question that he could come back into this, but he's got to start building momentum because Tiafoe is starting to puff that chest out.

  16. Deucepublished at 20:16 BST 2 July

    Tiafoe 4-6 6-2 7-5 3-1 Choinski*

Much of the crowd are rising and falling with Jan Choinski's every stroke. Elation as he comes on the approach for a forehand winner, deflation one point later when he comes over a forehand and wallops it into the net.

The Brit gets up 40-15 with a flat backhand but with a couple of well-struck returns, Frances Tiafoe turns up the pressure.

A man starts a "let's go Jan, let's go" chant, but it's immediately drowned out by "let's go Foe, let's go".

It gets a bit rowdy and the chair umpire has to tell everyone to calm it down. "Silence please".

Winning slams is something that Choinski hasn't experienced a lot. The way he hits the ball is draining, he works so hard. Every shot he hits seems like a monumental effort.

Tiafoe is able to generate a lot of force in other ways, flicking the wrist to generate power. He does it in a way that is less taxing.

  19. Tiafoe holds to lovepublished at 20:12 BST 2 July

Frances Tiafoe has hit a relentless streak. Back-to-back holds to love.

The crowd are trying to rally behind Jan Choinski, but even they seem to lack belief. It's all a bit flat.

Frances Tiafoe's fans, meanwhile, are whooping and whistling every time he lands a winner.
