Caty McNally is not helping herself. Consecutive loose groundstrokes leave her down 0-30.

She's grunting with effort as she hangs in a baseline exchange but comes up with a well-placed forehand into the corner to pull a point back.

Alas, her joy is short-lived. The long-levered Rybakina comes into the net for a forehand volley winner.

    *Tiafoe 4-6 6-2 3-4 Choinski

Frances Tiafoe edges into a 40-30 and goes hunting for an opportunity to wrap up the hold. But it backfires when he creeps up to the net and Jan Choinski puts a perfectly placed lob shot right on the baseline.

Three set points come and go for Jakub Mensik, but he seals the deal on the fourth!

The pair shared a powerful cross-court exchange before Grigor Dimitrov served up a wild forehand under pressure.

Mensik showed great composure to see that set out. Things are all square once again.

  5. McNally holdspublished at 19:30 BST 2 July

    *Rybakina 6-1 3-2 McNally

Loose, loose, loose from Caty McNally. She sends a smash beyond the baseline and sprays a down-the-line forehand into the tramlines with the court gaping. 15-30.

Elena Rybakina rocks back with frustration as she crunches a slow first serve into the base of the net and McNally climbs further out of danger by squatting down to redirect a fierce return.

A long forehand from Rybakina secures a huge hold to 30 for the world number 50.

  6. Choinski holdspublished at 19:29 BST 2 July

    *Tiafoe 4-6 6-2 3-4 Choinski

Jan Choinski controlled large parts of the opening set - earning 11 break points - while Frances Tiafoe dominated the second set and broke twice.

But this third feels much tighter and very tense, with both showing a lot more consistency on serve.

Choinski continues that trend with a hold to 15.

    *Mensik 6-7 (5-7) 5-4 Dimitrov

Jakub Mensik finally finds the break!

The Czech races to 30-0 up following a double fault and netted forehand from Grigor Dimitrov, who has been his own enemy at times in this second round match.

The Bulgarian manages to fight back to 30-40, but a quite frankly beautiful backhand straight down the court seals the break!

If Mensik holds his serve now, he is back on level terms. No pressure.

    Rybakina 6-1 3-1 McNally*

The good news for Caty McNally is that she's making inroads on Elena Rybakina's service games and errors are creeping in for the second seed.

The bad news - she's been unable to capitalise and still trails by a break.

    *Rybakina 6-1 2-1 McNally

Up advantage, Elena Rybakina hits probably her two worst serves of the day. The first one is several feet long. The second pings off the top frame and misses the court entirely.

Jan Choinski brings up his ninth ace of the match with another 130mph effort.

Ah. Choinski follows with a double fault to invite Frances Tiafoe back into the game at 40-30.

But there is a groan from Tiafoe when the ball cracks off the rim of his racquet.

  13. Deucepublished at 19:23 BST 2 July

    *Rybakina 6-1 2-1 McNally

That was a powerfully struck second serve from Elena Rybakina. Caty McNally, a pace or two inside the baseline, could only block it with her racquet.

  14. Break point McNallypublished at 19:22 BST 2 July

    *Rybakina 6-1 2-1 McNally

Wild forehand from Elena Rybakina. Another opportunity for Caty McNally, up 30-40.

  15. Tiafoe holdspublished at 19:22 BST 2 July

    Tiafoe 4-6 6-2 2-2 Choinski*

Frances Tiafoe appears to be on course for another routine hold at 40-15 until Jan Choinski rotates his hips and fizzes a forehand winner from the baseline.

Tiafoe gets it done on the next point anyway.

Jakub Mensik and Grigor Dimitrov are going toe-to-toe in every sense of the saying on court one.

There is genuinely nothing to separate the pair at the moment. To put it into context, the crowd have been treated to 12 break point opportunities in this match so far, but neither player has managed to find the breakthrough.

Mensik drives a double-handed backhand long to hand Dimitrov another service hold. Over to the 15th seed...

  17. McNally holdspublished at 19:18 BST 2 July

    *Rybakina 6-1 2-1 McNally

Caty McNally is struggling to string points together, trading points with Elena Rybakina up to 40-30.

Rybakina rather gifts her the hold, getting no lift on a drop shot and putting it into the net.

  18. Choinski holdspublished at 19:18 BST 2 July

    *Tiafoe 4-6 6-2 1-2 Choinski

Jan Choinski has settled back into the kind of rhythm that saw him take the opening set.

The Briton takes a hold to 15 to keep this third set on serve.

Nope, Elena McNally slams the door shut on Caty McNally. Seven consecutive games for the second seed.

  20. Tiafoe holdspublished at 19:14 BST 2 July

Pretty straightforward for Frances Tiafoe too.

The American responds with his own hold to 15. Picking up where he left off in that second set.
