    Zverev 6-1 6-3 3-1 Royer*

Such a hit-and-miss game from Valentin Royer.

A sweet cushioned forehand at the net is followed by a double fault for 30-all.

He steps into the court for an inside-out forehand winner and then nets a backhand after trying to serve and volley. And he's been so solid at the net...

  2. Fearnley misses three break pointspublished at 16:35 BST

    Fearnley 4-6 4-4 Munar*

Jacob Fearnley shows another flash of brilliance with a cross-court forehand winner, and then Jaume Munar nets to make it 0-40.

Three break points for the Briton... and his best chance comes on the third of them, when Fearnley nets a forehand at the end of a long rally.

    How crucial might that be?

    Deuce.

  3. Zverev holdspublished at 16:32 BST

    Zverev 6-1 6-3 3-1 Royer*

Speaking of brisk holds... impressive serving from Alexander Zverev, including back-to-back aces.

Even when his second serve is called upon, he absolutely hammers it and is quickly in position for the forehand winner.

You can absolutely see why Jacob Fearnley has been a top-50 player when he executes points like that!

That delightful backhand cross-court winner by Jaume Munar put him in position to pounce at 15-30 on Jacob Fearnley's serve.

But goodness me, Fearnley finds a brilliant touch at the net with a backhand volley winner that stops stone dead and he levels the set once more.

Oh that is a gem from Jaume Munar!

There is reluctant applause from the court 12 crowd, who are rather partisan towards Jacob Fearnley, but that is a beautiful shot.

This is a precarious moment for the Brit at 15-30 down on his service.

    *Zverev 6-1 6-3 2-1 Royer

Well, Valentin Royer won't need to worry about rallying with serves like that! A brisk hold to 15.

It's disappointing for Royer, once he loses a bit of weight in rally mode, Zverev just takes control of the point.

BBC News' Business Daily podcast has examined the business model behind one of sport's most valuable brands and you can listen here.

  11. Munar holdspublished at 16:24 BST

    *Fearnley 4-6 3-4 Munar

A bit of a chance missed by Jacob Fearnley, as Jaume Munar slips at the net but Fearnley can't find the court with an attempted lob.

Still an opportunity at 30-30 though... but an overhit forehand and a massive Munar serve at 139mph mean that opportunity passes by.

Something has gone very wrong with Jacob Fearnley... two years ago he was on fire and now he's seemingly lost all confidence in his ability.

    Stephen, London

Fearnley has dropped outside the top 150, having been in the world's top 50 around this time last year.

His cause hasn't been helped by some injuries, though.

Great Britain's Katie Swan, who lost in the second round to Madison Keys earlier, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Today was a tough result for me but it was an amazing experience to play on Court One for the first time. There was a lot going on in the match, I focused on calming my nerves. I loved playing in the match despite the result."

"I played Maddie a few years ago, I lost in the first round. I took my game to her on that occasion, I wanted to do the same today. It didn't go my way in the first set. I felt like I put on a lot of pressure and that the score didn't reflect that."

"She played really well, I don't think I served my best today. Overall, I'm proud of my efforts."

"The main goal for me today was to go out there, enjoy myself and put my tennis on the court. Once I got out there, I thought I relaxed quite well. I'd love to keep building on my rankings so I can get more opportunities like this."
