Amanda Anisimova, speaking on court after her three-set win against Sofia Kenin: "Some moments were really awful. I'm just happy to be through to the next round. I never thought I'd say this but thank you to my serve, I'm not a good server at all but after today, I can say that I am.

"I'm really happy with my performance, especially with the end. Shout out to Sofia, she's such a good opponent, a real fighter.

"My love of putting on a good show, playing my best tennis. I was down and told myself to keep fighting. I really tried to bring myself back to the present moment. I try to remind myself - have fun, you're playing at Wimbledon. These are the matches I train for, the tough ones, the fun ones.

"I was starting to get a bit of flashbacks from the French Open. I wanted to try to turn that page and do better. When I think about the French Open, I just thought about doing better here."

Germany-born Choinski, who is ranked 100th in the world, has matched his best performance at Wimbledon by reaching the second round.

He is taking on American 17th seed Frances Tiafoe, whose best run at Wimbledon was a fourth-round appearance in 2022.

Fearnley is struggling here against Munar. Flashes of brilliance we've see from Fearnley have been ruined, he's had eight double faults. If he's going to hold on, he's going to have to go the distance.

  5. game, set and match

If I play at this level, a big result is possible - Zverevpublished at 17:29 BST 2 July

    Zverev 6-1 6-3 7-6 (7-3) Royer

Alexander Zverev, speaking after his second-round victory against Valentin Royer: "For two and a half sets I played almost perfectly. I lost a bit of focus and concentration and he [Royer] used it very well.

"He had it very interesting in the end, but I'm happy to be through in straight sets and not having to play another - even though I love to play here! It's nice to win easier in the beginning."

Can fewer sets at the start make a difference later in the tournament? "Yes, for sure. I'm not old yet but I'm getting to an age where you need to save energy and it builds confidence when you win in straight sets, especially at Wimbledon where I am still waiting for a big result - if I continue playing like this, I think it is definitely possible this year.

"I love the saying 'in tennis you need to have a short-term memory, good or bad'. The next tournament is always round the corner. I won the French Open, which I've been waiting for such a long time and was such a big relief, but two weeks later we're here at Wimbledon. It's such a short turnaround. You have to remember that you can and have done it, but have to take every match at 100%."

If Jacob Fearnley wants to get himself back into this match, first serve percentage is key. He has to cut out these double faults. They have been pretty disruptive.

It isn't so much how many he has hit, it is the fact they have come at some really tough moments.

It will be a case of hanging with Jaume Munar now. He has to keep this to the single break.

It all went a little bit flat on court 12 after Jacob Fearnley’s early setback in the third set.

But there are still plenty of shouts of encouragement for the Briton when it appears he most needs them, with the crowd desperate to see him find a way back into this and play their part in a memorable fightback.

There hasn’t been too much between these two, but Fearnley needs to start taking charge of the big points if he is to stand any chance of taking the atmosphere back up a few levels here.

  9. Munar holdspublished at 17:23 BST 2 July

    Matt Chilton
    Commentator on BBC One

Oh it's a double fault to surrender the break of serve. That's not the start to the third set that Jacob Fearnley would've wanted - at all.

Jaume Munar will be feeling pretty good about his prospects now.

  12. Munar breaks Fearnley at start of third setpublished at 17:16 BST 2 July

    Fearnley 4-6 6-7 (3-7) 0-1 Munar*

It takes four deuces but just the one break point for Jaume Munar to take full control on court 12.

Jacob Fearnley's task just got a whole lot harder.

    Anisimova 6-2 4-6 7-6 (10-3) Kenin

Sixth seed Amanda Anisimova, who lost against Iga Swiatek in last year's final, has just beaten fellow American Sofia Kenin on court two.

Anisimova looked on course for a routine win after winning the opening set in just 28 minutes but she was pegged back by Kenin in the second.

Both players broke twice in the decider, forcing a tie-break, but Anisimova moved through the gears to get over the line.

American 26th seed Madison Keys waits for Anisimova in the third round.
