You just can't pick a winner.

They've given us a wonderful semi-final these two players, absolutely wonderful.

Five century breaks, I think three breaks of more than 140 - what a standard.

    Wu 14-14 Allen

Wu Yize is able to cash in on the table after potting that long red and while this break is not quite as scintillating as some in this match, it's equally as valuable.

There were some pressure pots - including a tough pink - as he compiles a break of 74 to seal the frame.

From time to time there are huge shouts of 'Wu' from fans inside the Crucible when the 22-year-old knocks in long reds like that.

Earlier this week I heard one of the tournament officials checking that the player from China is not mistaking those shouts for 'boos' and is fully aware that it's a very much being done out of admiration for his attacking play.

    Wu 13-14 Allen

Wu Yize knocks in a long red in the corner pocket with the frame in the midst of another safety battle.

There's so much at stake that it feels inevitable at times.

There was an indication that nobody enjoyed that yesterday and the boys called that one very quickly!

    They're having a re-rack - thank God for that!

We needed a re-rack yesterday, in that history-making one hour and 40 minute frame.

    Wu 13-14 Allen

After a bit of stalemate with an unbroken pack, and some safety shots into it, the referee promptly offers up a re-rack.

Some chuckling for the crowd given events yesterday when these two played out the longest frame in Crucible history.

Mark Allen has been clinical in this tournament.

He did miss a shot along the top cushion towards the end of that frame, but wasn't punished for it by Wu Yize.

I think he's value for his one-frame lead but it's so tight - they've got such different styles it's great to watch.

  9. Allen back in frontpublished at 21:07 BST 2 May

    Wu 13-14 Allen

Wu Yize cannot capitalise, however, and fails to cut a red into the corner pocket.

Mark Allen does not need a second invitation and gets himself over the line with the just the colours left unpotted.

The Northern Irishman breathes a sigh of relief after moving ahead following a scrappy frame.

    Wu 13-13 Allen

Groans, gasps and gasping again. Mark Allen plays a ferocious red along the cushion but it rattles in the jaws of the pocket.

The Northern Irishman is 34 ahead with 43 remaining as he takes his seat.

    Wu 13-13 Allen

Mark Allen is able to pick off a red then get himself down the business end of the table to start cultivating a scattered pack along with the black.

A break of 35 and he's looking well set in this frame.

The bouncebackability factor that Wu Yize has - I felt like he needed that one big visit in the last frame and that's going to give him a lot of confidence going to the rest of this evening.

Wu Yize ticks along to 22 before he becomes embroiled in another safety exchange with Mark Allen.

We have a magician, we have a wizard and we need a name for Wu Yize because he is an unbelievable potter.

    Wu 13-13 Allen

Wu Yize takes on another bold long red and...slams it into the corner pocket.

He's up and running in this frame, but it's not a straightforward table as things stand so there's a puzzle to work out here.

Wu Yize reminds me of Joe Johnson in 1986 - no fear snooker.

    Open to suggestions, folks.

Neither player off the mark in the 27th frame. Bit of safety play.

Wu Yize and Mark Allen are both back out at the table for the resumption of this match.

Potentially we could have another seven frames here.

Does Wu Yize realise he's in a semi-final of the World Championship at the Crucible? It's like he's at his club having a knockabout at times.
