Cameron Norrie has not been on his game. He just has no rhythm and is almost not timing the ball properly. I wonder if that's down to Musetti constantly mixing up the pace.
Norrie 1-6 2-6 4-5 Musetti*
Both are giving it their all here - Musetti knowing to win this would put him on the cusp Norrie and Norrie knowing he needs to hold to hang on in.
The pair battle to deuce but Musetti gets to advantage and pulls off the shot he needs to as a brilliant running forehand secures the break.
The Italian is almost there.

On Cameron Norrie clocking up over 40 unforced errors so far:
'It's bizarre that he's coming up with this many unforced errors.'
*Norrie 1-6 2-6 4-4 Musetti
A gutsy winner by Musetti to move 40-30 ahead but a first double fault of the match takes it to deuce gives Norrie hope of another break.
Musetti sends a forehand wide and suddenly there's concern etched on his face.
Twice Norrie has break point but Musetti twice rescues the situation before an ace and a winner on the next point gets the job done.
An important hold, but Norrie is fighting.
Norrie 1-6 2-6 4-3 Musetti*
The crowd is liking the prospect of a fight back here and Musetti sending a forehand return a touch long at the start of this game is greeted by cheers.
Norrie has definitely got a second wind - or a first wind given he's been poor up to now - and he wins a great point to lead 30-15 by stretching at the net to flick it out of Musetti's reach.
Battling stuff from Norrie.
Norrie 1-6 2-6 4-3 Musetti*
Suddenly there's a lot more aggression in Norrie's play. He's zipping around the court well and is working Musetti that bit harder for his points.
The Italian, though, shows the resolve that has got him into this strong position in the first place and a fine backhand shot to the edge of the court gives him a break point.
Norrie sweeps a forehand out of Musetti's reach and punches the air with delight.
We're back to deuce before Musetti sends a return at the end of a decent rally long and Norrie takes the next point before jumping in the air in celebration.
It's a hold, but it feels like an important one as he tries to fight back.

This is far better from Cameron Norrie now. He's starting to hit the ball like the guy we've been watching for the last three and a half years.
*Norrie 1-6 2-6 3-3 Musetti
Much needed!
Musetti hits a first ace of the match before Norrie responds with an excellent return down the line.
A fierce cross-court drive has too much for Musetti and Norrie has a first break point of the match.
He has to make this count and he does with a superb running forehand.
Some hope for the Brit just as it was fading.
Norrie 1-6 2-6 2-3 Musetti*
Norrie sends a tired return well long of the court for a 39th unforced error of the game - that has been his undoing with Musetti keeping his own mistakes to a minimum.
Saying that, Musetti lets his concentration slip at 30-30, sending a forehand return wide and Norrie then takes the next point to hold a serve that looked in danger of getting away from him at one point.
He's just about hanging in there.

A couple of really good serves by Musetti just as Norrie was looking a little rejuvenated.
The Italian holds to 15 and leads 3-1 in this third set.

Norrie is in danger of losing this set faster than the other two here as Musetti races ahead 30-0.
A lengthy rally ends with Musetti dragging a forehand return wide and Norrie then gets up to the front of the court to win the next two points.
Musetti then sends a forehand return long and, although it is just a hold of serve for Norrie, it is much needed after looking in real danger of losing this set with a whimper.

I can barely think of a performance from a top player with Norrie’s ranking as bad as this.
It’s so bad. He just can’t play.
*Norrie 1-6 2-6 0-2 Musetti
Norrie wipes his brow with the towel before puffing out his cheeks at the start of this game. As good as Musetti has played, Norrie has also been the architect of his downfall here.
He's struggled to find his rhythm and that's the case once again as he pops a frustrated return into the net as Musetti comfortably holds.
Norrie 1-6 2-6 0-1 Musetti*
Musetti saw off that second set in 42 minutes, Norrie needs to make this one last longer and unsettle the Italian, who hasn't dropped a set so far here.
There's some good aggression shown by Norrie at the start of this first set but those mistakes are there again, characterised by a double fault at deuce before Musetti takes the next point and breaks the Brit immediately.
Not the start he wanted at all.

It is falling apart very rapidly for Cameron Norrie. This has never been a contest.
From the word go, Lorenzo Musetti has looked the better, the sharper, the player in control of his game. The scoreboard does not lie.
Norrie 1-6 2-6 Musetti
Musetti is simply on it while Norrie isn't as the Italian holds on serve and moves into a two-set lead.
Norrie gets about the court well in this game but Musetti just seems to have an answer for everything his opponent can offer up.
The young Italian is now just one set away from a place in the fourth round, unless Norrie can somehow dig himself out of this hole.

Uncharacteristic unforced errors from Norrie. He is usually so business-like and so assured. He is almost dependable as a player, he’s always got that level of tennis.
Not managing to find it today.

Audible groans from the Mathieu crowd when Norrie whacks an overhead into the clay a good few feet from the net on his side of the court.
They might have been supplemented by Norrie himself.
Another service game for the Brit, another scrap for survival.
Norrie 1-6 2-5 Musetti*
Some really good tennis from both in this game as the two battle to deuce.
Norrie really cannot afford to give this one up but he makes a poor mistake as he slams a shot from a high return into the ground on his side of the court.
He knows this game is crucial and he shows some real fight to save two break points but he's left scrambling to return a good hit to the back of the court by Musetti and his backhand return lands just out.
Musetti is serving to take the second set.
