Here are a few more stats to put into context just how well Iga Swiatek is performing.

The Pole has recorded a tour-leading 16 6-0 sets in 2022, winning 40 matches and losing just three to clinch five titles.

Her winning percentage at Roland Garros of 90.5% is the third-best in the tournament's history, while the last women's player to win 19 matches at the French Open before turning 21 was 2008 champion Ana Ivanovic.

Swiatek is also the first women's top seed to reach the semi-finals at Roland Garros since Simona Halep in 2018.

Iga Swiatek extended her winning streak to 33 matches in knocking out 11th seed Jessica Pegula in straight sets in the quarter-finals.

Only Serena Williams (34) and Venus Williams (35) have achieved longer runs on the WTA Tour this century.

Triumph again at Roland Garros, of course, and she will stand joint-top of that list.

A beautiful summer's day in Paris today.

The Seine is glistening in the sun, the Eiffel Tower sparkling in the distance.

At Roland Garros, the Chatrier roof is peeled back like the top of a convertible, the colour of red dirt enriched by the rays beating down.

  5. Women's semi-finals daypublished at 13:50 BST 2 June 2022

We're down to the final four at Roland Garros.

World number one Iga Swiatek remains the red hot favourite to win a second French Open title, but can Daria Kasatkina spring a surprise in her first ever Grand Slam semi-final?

That contest is first up on Court Philippe Chatrier.

We are guaranteed at least one first-time major finalist in the women's draw, though, with American teen Coco Gauff and Italian Martina Trevisan following that match.

    Neither are to be missed.
