How Bryson changed his body & changed golf
Image source, Getty ImagesBryson DeChambeau is toying with the idea of using a 48-inch driver at the Masters this week in a bid to gain even more distance off the tee.
The US Open champion is already the longest driver on the PGA Tour and has been working on designing a new shaft.
The American tested the latest version on the range at Augusta on Monday and said results were "really promising".
"I am not 100% sure if I will put it in play yet because of the unknown, it is so close to the Masters," he said.
"But if it is an improvement on every facet of launch conditions, then I don't see why not?"
The world number six added: "I tested it (on Monday) for the first time. We have gone through at least three or four iterations of the shaft and this is the most promising one yet.
"I had about four or five miles an hour ball speed increase, I got my swing speed up to 143/144mph on the range, and the dispersion is the same, the spin rate was even down.
"So it looks really promising right now. I did not expect it to work yesterday, I was like 'this is going to take even more time', but it did work."

Who will win the Masters and why?
And also your tip for the best European performance.
Ian Frank: Masters picks, would love fellow Blue, Tommy Fleetwood to win it or Ricky Fowler.
Rich: Bryson will win by at least 4 and break Tigers -18 record. Why? Because he’s Bryson.
Not sure if that would be allowed in a dissertation, Rich.

The Fijian performed the trick in 2009 and the German managed in 2012.

Image source, EPAOK, so it's not that much consolation but nine players have played holes already.
Canadian Corey Conners proudly sits at the top of the leaderboard - on alphabetical-order difference, after a par at the par-four first.
His playing partners Lucas Glover and Pan Cheng-tsung (or CT Pan, if you must) are also level.
The '88 champ Sandy Lyle bogeyed the 10th - his first - despite a decent drive from the tee.
Sadly for Chinese amateur Yuxin Lin, he double-bogeyed the 10th and sits on two over.
He found the bunker left of the green and failed to find the green from the trap with his third shot.
Some fantastic pictures from the team at Eureka Earth showing how the grass at Augusta National has developed in the build-up to the Masters.

The weather looks rough out there. We will will try to bring you the latest forecast as soon as we can.
Remember it gets dark at 17:27 Augusta time. And in these murky conditions it'll be earlier.
Americans Lucas Glover and Brandt Snedeker are out on Augusta after a 10-minute delay to their tee-offs.
Scot Sandy Lyle, who won back in 1988, has also begun his opening round - he started on the 10th, aka Camellia.

The problem is there isn't much leeway during these darker months. People's Monday finish? Minus the people.

Tom Devlin: Jon Rahm and Jon Rahm. Had my money on him even before that hit over/on the water.
Andrew David Payne: My Masters Picks are the Big Hitting Bryson and the hoody wearing Hatton.
Hatton has been a superb form.
