The key question is whether there will be any rust to shake off at Amex Stadium against a Wolves side who returned to action much earlier due to their FA Cup replay against Brentford.
Roberto de Zerbi will hope not.
Five points from the three Christmas games - remember them - means Brighton have a chance of sneaking into the top six with a victory.
While the gap to Tottenham in fifth place is a big one, it would keep De Zerbi's side looking up rather than down, where Chelsea, Newcastle and Wolves remain within striking distance.

Image source, Getty ImagesA bit of transfer news from the midlands today - Wolverhampton Wanderers' out-of-favour full-back Jonny is in talks with Greek side PAOK Salonika.
The 29-year-old, who has been capped three times by Spain, has been training alone after a training ground incident with a younger player last month.
On Friday, Wolves boss Gary O'Neil said he would look at the situation again if Jonny was unable to find a new club.
Razvan Lucescu's PAOK are top of the Greek Superleague on goal difference from Panathinaikos.

We'll have team news for you shortly but the visitors are still without Asian Cup-bound Hwang Hee-chan. The South Korea star has been directly involved in 43.3% of Wolves’ 30 Premier League goals this term (10 goals, three assists), with only Mohamed Salah (51.2%) and Dominic Solanke (46.4%) either scoring or assisting a higher share of their side’s goals.
A big loss.
A good spot the ball/player competition there by the way. I'm going for Roy Keane.

Image source, Getty ImagesBrighton have had 16 days off but Wolves haven't played a Premier League match this year. January is a strange old beast.
This is the third latest a team has played their first Premier League game of a calendar year after Portsmouth in 2010 (26th January) and Manchester United in 2000 (24th January).
United had prior engagements that year of course...

Image source, Getty ImagesBrighton are so well run these days that while everyone else is groaning under the usual Premier League strain they have had a 16-day break from football.
After topping up their tans in Dubai and signing another south American wonderkid it's back to business against a very in-form Wolves tonight.
Shall we?
