    Brighton 0-0 Wolves

Great tackle! Brighton open up Wolves again, Joao Pedro flies into the area and shrugs off one man, pulls back his right foot...and then Nelson Semedo arrives to block his shot from right in front of goal.

    Superb.

    Brighton 0-0 Wolves

It's opening up! We hope. Pascal Gross slides a gem of a ball down the side of the Wolves defence and Pervis Estupiñán sees his cross well charged down. From the corner Jose Sa has to be alert to punch the ball out right under his crossbar.

The same pattern and formula for Wolves. Brighton give the ball away and they are wide open to be attacked.

Mattheus Cunha makes a good run, that would have been some exit from the pitch and some entrance for Cunha!

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 46 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Wolves

What a chance! The best moment of the night and Wolves should be ahead 20 seconds or so into the second half.

Tommy Doyle frees Pedro Neto with a lovely pass, Neto tees up Matheus Cunha breaking into the area but his low shot is pawed out by Jason Steele. He then leans back and slaps the rebound over the bar as well.

No changes for either side and we go again...

I'm still getting my head around the idea that James Milner has played more top-flight games than Sir Stanley Matthews.

Granted, the wizard of dribble did have a World War disrupting his career. But he played for England at the age of 42!

  7. Let's stay positivepublished at 20:44 GMT 22 January 2024

    Brighton 0-0 Wolves

The previous Premier League match played on a Monday had a 0-0 half-time score, but resulted in a 4-2 home win for Liverpool versus Newcastle United earlier this month on New Year's Day.

Brighton, possession wise, do like to move it, but they did not create too much and on the flip-side Wolves look dangerous with pace up front.

Brighton look better on the ball, but have not created enough.

Refs used to use a bit of common sense and have a stern word with players before booking them. Now they book them for any old thing! Cunha can feel very hard done by!

    Brighton 0-0 Wolves

Brighton have gone on to draw just one of their last six matches at the Amex when drawing 0-0 at half-time, winning four and losing the other. This comes after they had drawn each of their previous nine at home when going in 0-0 at the break.

How is Gilmour still on the pitch? He has cut Cunha off twice now nowhere near the ball, deliberately blocking the man. And the referee books Cunha?! Really poor refereeing.

The Wolves players are not happy as referee Craig Pawson blows up as they looked to attack. It's about as exciting as this half has got.

Well that is harsh, Matheus Cunha is now booked for a clash with Billy Gilmour but there didn't seem to be any contact at all.

A bit of a flashpoint on the sidelines between the two benches after Craig Dawson catches Billy Gilmour in the face in the aftermath of a tackle. Not much to see there, but a member of the Wolves backroom staff is shown a yellow card for his reaction.

I think Gary O'Neil will be happiest out of the two managers.

I cannot think of a clear chance for Brighton, Danny Welbeck had a shot over the bar and Jose Sa made a good save, but they have not really done much.

O'Neil will be pleased and maybe he will take a few more risks in the second half.

Shot on target! Joao Pedro does enough to drag me away from researching Teddy Lucic's career with a clever dragback and shot from the edge of the area but it's not hot enough to test Jose Sa too much.

You have every reason to be nervous fellow Wolves' fan. It doesn’t mean that we will win tonight, but where Brighton are is three points above us!

Ahhh ran out of room! Joao Pedro does well to nick the ball inside the area after Danny Welbeck did the hard yards but the Brazilian ends up off the pitch before he can squeeze off a shot.

Not often you see Pervis Estupinan get one wrong but his ball to the back stick is massive, too big even for Lewis Dunk.
