You wouldn't sit here thinking Watford were the Premier league team. QPR have played well and they will definitely get another chance.

Watford nudge ahead just before the half ends. It's not quite lit alight yet but QPR have plenty to be encouraged by.

Jordan Cousins threads a brilliant ball through towards Nahki Wells but it's just out of reach of the striker's stretched toe.

That ball tore apart the defence and would have been some assist!

  5. 'Harsh, but poor marking'published at 20:37 GMT 15 February 2019

    QPR 0-1 Watford

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

It seems harsh but there's really poor marking going on here. They've only got themselves to blame for the lack of marking.

They have to focus on the positives, QPR, they've been the better side and they've had the better of the opportunities. Steve McClaren will know if they keep doing what they've done they'll get the chances in the second half.

  6. goal

    GOAL - QPR 0-1 Watfordpublished at 20:33 GMT 15 February 2019

    Etienne Capoue (45+1 mins)

The corner is played short before it's crossed in deep and it's mishit by Tom Cleverley. But it falls kindly to Etienne Capoue in the centre of the box and he smashes it into the bottom right corner in the first of four stoppage time minutes.

    QPR 0-0 Watford

Toni Leistner nods away a cross aimed at Troy Deeney and Watford have a corner on the stroke of half-time.

  8. 'Hughes needs help'published at 20:31 GMT 15 February 2019

    QPR 0-0 Watford

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

I can only think of Will Hughes who is trying to get on the ball for Watford. Cleverley and Capoue need to get a foothold in this game quickly if Watford are going to take some control.

It can be difficult when teams set up as QPR are doing, but it's just all too slow.

Are Watford actually in the Premier League? Wonder when they might start playing like it?

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 42 mins

    QPR 0-0 Watford

A poor pass is picked up by Luke Freeman in midfield and QPR counter with pace. It's chipped over the top and into the path of Nahki Wells in the box.

The striker tries to poke it past the keeper first time but he doesn't quite catch it right and Heurelho Gomes manages to claw it past the post.

  11. ouch!

    QPR 0-0 Watford

Deja vu as another cross is plummeted in by QPR. Heurelho Gomes jumps up bravely to catch it at the back post and gets a hand in the eye on his fall down.

  12. Upset on the cards?published at 20:26 GMT 15 February 2019

    QPR 0-0 Watford

    Jermaine Jenas

It's starting to give that whiff of an upset this game.

I don't know what it is about Watford but they don't quite seem up for it.

  13. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    QPR 0-0 Watford

A ball is swung in from the right by Luke Freeman and once again Matt Smith is the man it's aimed at. He wins it and his header drops inches wide of the right post but he was well offside.

Frustratingly, there were two players behind him who were comfortable onside and if they had nodded it in, it would have counted!

Waford strikers Troy Deeney and Andre Gray have had a very quiet evening so far. Here's their touchmaps combined. Just the one touch for Deeney in the box and that was from a free-kick.

  15. 'Tedious from Hornets'published at 20:22 GMT 15 February 2019

    QPR 0-0 Watford

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

They've been very good defensively so far, QPR. There have been no gaps and when Watford get the ball QPR are deep enough that there's no space for Watford to make the runs.

Cleverley, Capoue, and Hughes aren't taking risks so far and it's all a bit tedious from Watord.

They're a bit slow and they need to step it up a bit.

  16. Postpublished at 34 mins

    QPR 0-0 Watford

Nice quick feet from Luke Freeman but Jose Holebas stands firm to win the ball on the left touchline.

Watford go through the middle with Tom Cleverley and Will Hughes but are stopped in their tracks and QPR counter. Matt Smith is the target again but Miguel Britos wins both headers.

  17. CLOSE!published at 30 mins

    QPR 0-0 Watford

It's passed back to Heurelho Gomes and the keeper completely miscues his kick to give away a corner.

The set-piece comes out to Massimo Luongo on the edge of the box and the QPR midfielder controls it with his left foot then smashes a volley with his right. It's hit so well but bounces inches wide of the left post.

What an effort! That was beautiful technique!

  18. 'Watford frustrated'published at 20:16 GMT 15 February 2019

    QPR 0-0 Watford

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

There's a distinct game plan for QPR here - frustrate Watford, which they are doing, and try to catch them on the counter. So far they're doing that really well too.

  20. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

    QPR 0-0 Watford

Will Hughes cuts it inside to Daryl Janmaat. He pokes it through for Ken Sema and follows up the rebound before firing a decent effort with the outside of his boot.

    That wasn't too far off!
