[R.E 8.54pm] Jeffrey Hurst: Weirdly not named after THE Geoff Hurst, according to my parents it was a compromise...
QPR 0-1 Watford
Joseph Cousins is in a good position with his back turned on the edge of the area. He has options either side and when he turns, space to shoot.
But the QPR man gets it all wrong and his pass to Luke Freeman is completely overhit.
QPR 0-1 Watford
QPR have a three-on-two when Christian Kabasele gives the ball away on the edge of the Watford area.
Nahki Wells uses the distraction of the wide runs to move into the space and tries to curl it into the far corner but it's always going wide.

Troy Deeney battles to keep the ball on the edge of the QPR area and does well to slip it out wide to Will Hughes.
But the midfielder's cross is poor and falls straight into Joe Lumley's hands, over the heads of Deeney and Andre Gray.
QPR 0-1 Watford
Miguel Britos has been excellent for Watford tonight. Once again, he is the man to mop things up at the back as QPR win another corner.
It's half-cleared by Watford and the hosts keep firing in crosses until Christian Kabasele eventually hoofs it up field.

QPR can sense the chance to turn this tie around is there.
You expected Watford to come out more buoyant after scoring the goal but it's not showing - they almost seem to be on the edge Watford.
QPR 0-1 Watford
Matt Smith climbs all over Christian Kabasele and gives away a free-kick. On the dugout, Javi Gracia is deep in though.
His side have not played particularly well tonight. Will he make any changes and hope to ride it out?

Watford try to counter but an early cross from the right is cut out. QPR then lose the ball in midfield but Troy Deeney's slip pass goes all the way through to keeper Joe Lumley.
QPR 0-1 Watford
Heurelho Gomes punches away the delivery but neat work from Massimo Luongo allows QPR to recycle the attack on the right.
It's crossed into Matt Smith and he nods it down for Luke Freeman. His shot is dragged wide again. Just before that, Smith was in a decent position at the back post but his header skewed sideways. QPR are getting the chances!

It's Watford who are having to defend at the moment. Will Hughes pulls down Joseph Cousins and QPR have a free-kick in the opposition half, right on the left touchline.
QPR 0-1 Watford
The hosts have started this half higher up the pitch. They pressurise Watford's midfield but they escape and Will Hughes manages to keep the ball in on the back line. It comes to nothing though.
Also, were you named after THE Geoff Hurst?

Jeffrey Hurst: Realised that it's 22 years to the day that QPR were last in the 5th round - which also makes it the 22nd anniversary of my 1st QPR game!
Happy anniversary!
QPR 0-1 Watford
A long ball finds Matt Smith and the striker nods it down for Luke Freeman on the edge of the box.
He shoots with his left foot but is slipping as he makes contact which drags the effort wide.

As a WFC fan I'd observe that that we are one of a host of teams in the Premier League who prefer to counter attack - our midfield is a battling destructive one not a creative one, so trying to force the play isn't our style which makes for the slightly dull spectacle we're all 'enjoying'.

QPR 0-1 Watford
The second half gets underway. No changes from either side.
