    Target 330

Sport in general was miles better in the noughties than 90s. The Premier League, Federer v Nadal, Team GB having a chance in the Olympics plus the '05 Ashes.

    Just one from the over.

The question isn't whether the 2000s is better. The question should be whether players from the 90s could excel today. Ealham and Dermot Reeve would be naturals in today's team. Preposterous not to have them in your top five.

Two swishes from Moeen. This is a feeling I've felt a lot this winter.

Chris Mitch: With that wicket, you’d think the game is beyond England now. But they can take many positives from these three games, including Livingstone looking at home the middle order.

Sam Curran is in. It's a big ask.

Now that may be the game. Malan gets to fifty but two balls later hits a pull straight to Rohit at mid-wicket.

Bowler Shardul Thakur is off celebrating arms outstretched. He's come on and removed Livingstone and Malan.

50 for Malanpublished at 25.2 overs

A little wave of the bat from Malan as he reaches a 48-ball fifty with a four. He knows there's a lot more work to do.

  8. Eng 164-5published at 25 overs

    Malan 46, Moeen 8

Moeen Ali has three one-day hundreds. Not bad for your number seven. We're halfway through. Malan is still ticking along.

RedDogCam: So often in cricket, horrendous balls get much needed wickets. It's as though batsmen are so good that when something truly dire comes along, they can't adapt. How many full tosses end up caught? It's crazy.

There's no time like the present for Moeen Ali to find some form.

It was going so well for England. It's another dreadful ball getting a wicket with Livingstone patting a full toss back for a caught and bowled. Livingstone had got England back in it. India are well on top again now.

The debate has now turned into a 90s v 2000s argument. I maintain the 2000s was better. Friends and Euro 96? Both overrated.

Seven from the over without too much risk.

I've just missed a few balls because I was too busy debating England's all-time top five greatest ODI players.

Buttler, KP, Morgan, Root, Bairstow is my answer.

Another bright start from Liam Livingstone whose batting versatility, as well as his bowling, makes him stand out as the best of the rest of the England batters looking to cement a place in the white-ball squads.

Down the pitch comes Livingstone to Krunal Pandya...

"Catch" yell the Indian players but the Cumbrian has enough on it, despite not using the middle of the bat.

Come on guys. It's Jos Buttler. He's England's greatest ever white-ball player. He may be in bad form but he can't be dropped.

Mancman: To the usual "Buttler Out" cultists - he averages 39 which is good for where he bats as he rarely gets chance to play himself in. His keeping is much improved. Dropping Buttler would be madness. Every other country fears him.

Kohli looks as shocked as I am to see that missing the stumps altogether. He's wide-eyed, 'ooohing' as looks up at the screen. Four from that over.
