Mark Palmer: England have been the best ODI team in world for a few years now and have scored massive totals. Yet people criticise their style... madness. Yes, it will come unstuck from time to time, especially given the names playing at the moment. Rather this than dross before the 2015 World Cup.
Target 330
That win in the first Test feels a long time ago doesn't it?
"Don't forget about me," says Sam Curran with a crunching pull. That was hit hard.

Couldn’t agree more with Stan (15:45). By all means when you're batting first, go for it. But surely in a chase you adjust to the situation and runs required rather than 'going for it'. Ridiculous.

Adil Rashid is the new batsman with just Mark Wood and Reece Topley to come.
Moeen c H Pandya b Bhuvneshwar 29 (Eng 200-7)
Image source, BCCIGone this time! This really must be it. England's last hope disappears with Moeen hitting in the air to Hardik Pandya at mid-off - the India all-rounder taking a good catch diving forward.
Just as it was at the start of this white ball tour, it's Bhuvi again doing the damage.

I much prefer to see us trying to go for the win in a positive fashion. Throughout the years I've seen many England sides knock off singles and get nowhere near the total needed. It makes for a dull spectacle.

Eeek. Bhuvneshwar Kumar's first ball is a short one that Moeen hooks. He doesn't get all of it and it only just evades a fielder at fine leg. It's still four.
Uh oh. Bhuvi is back. He still has five overs to bowl too.
Moeen 25, S Curran 9
It's still 30 degrees in Pune, I'm told. That's something we rarely consider when watching on TV.
England need 134 from the final 20 overs.

Tony Cocozza (15:37) - both Ealham and Reeves had pretty woeful averages with bat and ball. Save for the 92 final, the 90s was a bit of an embarrassing decade for England. This England ODI side is comfortably better than any other era.
Mike Graham
On the England approach debate... I remember India trying to tick along in pursuit of a big total at Edgbaston in the World Cup. They ended up still losing wickets and in the end it was too big an ask for the lower order. They came up well short.
I know which approach I'd prefer.
Sam Curran gets his first boundary with a slash through backward point. That's his area. Poor from Krishna.
The fact England have kept being relatively aggressive means there's less pressure on Moeen and Curran now.
The players have just been having a drink. Prasidh Krishna returns.

Genuine question: what would England have to do for supporters to accept this is the way they are going to play? It worked in the last game. It worked in a World Cup.
You've still got to hit boundaries when you need six runs per over. They're chasing 330.

I really fail to see these tactics. At a run a ball you play run a ball correct. That's a proper analysis for me. This go for it whatever and the justifications I hear are simply rubbish.
Stan
Another swing from Moeen. This one flies away for a one-bounce four.
Image source, BCCIMoeen is going to keep on attacking. A six high over the leg side off Natarajan.
