Flexiturb: Interesting that India dropped their wrist spinner for a pace bowler. Now they have just Krunal Pandya to bowl spin. Should they have picked Chahal or Axar Patel?

You knew it wouldn't be long before Rishabh Pant got going. Down he comes, sending Rashid a long way back.

  3. Gardner sinks New Zealandpublished at 10:36 BST 28 March 2021

Ash Gardner cracked 78 from just 43 balls to rescue Australia in the first T20 against New Zealand in Hamilton.

Chasing 131, the world champions were 14-3 and 62-4, only for Gardner to launch six fours and three sixes.

She combined with Ellyse Perry - two players who will line up for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred - for an unbroken stand of 71 as the Aussies won with two overs to spare.

    Pant 8, Rahul 2

Lovely from Moeen, the only bowler who has really control the scoring so far. He has 1-8 from three.

20 overs gone. Things are looking better for England than they did at 100-0 after 14 overs.

Question: Which team (other than Southern Brave, of course) do you think looks the strongest for The Hundred? (Matt Moreton)

Mills: Since the re-draft, all teams look strong now but if I was pressed, I'd have to say Trent Rockets and Oval Invincibles look quite tasty... not as tasty as us though!

  6. Ind 126-3published at 19 overs

Adil Rashid looks up for the battle of this deciding game. After Pant cuts into the deep, Rashid is barking at fielder Dawid Malan and pleading for him to get around and cut the ball off.

Tremendous little period for England, first from Adil Rashid and now Moeen Ali. England needed a fightback and they have certainly got one. Eoin Morgan will be really pleased watching this from the bench.

  8. Ind 121-3published at 18 overs

    Pant 3, Rahul 0

How things can change. England have taken 3-18 in 19 balls.

Kohli did his trademark look of disbelief at the pitch there but he has been bowled leg stump when cutting. Surely he's got to look at his own shot.

    Kohli b Moeen 7 (Ind 121-3)

Moeen bowls his bunny again! England's spinners are doing the business.

Virat Kohli goes back and is bowled by one that turns from Moeen. Kohli is looking at the pitch but was it too close to cut? I'd say so.

Kohli is back in the hutch.

  10. Ind 118-2published at 17 overs

    Kohli 6, Pant 1

Rashid will probably say he isn't actually bowling that well. It's a bit of a mixed bag with a few too many short bowls. Still he has two massive wickets.

Rishabh Pant is in. Expect fireworks.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.4 overs

    Dhawan c&b Rashid 67 (Ind 117-2)

Adil Rashid has a second! He removes Shikhar Dhawan now, drawing a false, chipped shot and diving across to take a good return catch. Dhawan had looked really good. Two crucial breakthroughs.

OW: I've said it before and I'll say it again: Adil Rashid has cricket's best ever googly. What a ball!

  13. Ind 113-1published at 16 overs

Moeen looks to have given his scalp a fresh shave. Kohli is looking to be busy but England's off-spinning all-rounder twirls away, bowling with good pace and giving Kohli little to hit.

    Three from the over.

A bit of magic from Rashid when England needed it most. Can England use this as their chance to claw their way back into the game?

It's spin from both ends now. Here's Moeen Ali.

    I should have kept quiet.

Rashid gives Virat Kohli a freebie to start which the India captain whacks away. His next ball is a very big wide too. Adil is annoyed with himself.

No doubt about this one. Magic from Adil Rashid. England's leggie has bowled the great Rohit Sharma with a lovely googly. It just turned enough, went between bat and pad and hit the top of off. A leg-spinner's dream.

    England needed that.

  18. Not outpublished at 10:08 BST 28 March 2021

    It has not.

Another good decision from umpire Nitin Menon. the busiest man in India.

My first concern was height but has it pitched in line?

This one is close. It's Rashid and an lbw appeal to Dhawan. Jos Buttler wants another looking.
