Anthony Elanga definitely worries the Barcelona defence and the visitors concede a free-kick as Elanga's quick feet causes problems.

Kieran Trippier sends the ball into the box, but it is deflected out to Elanga, whose first-time strike goes wide.

    Newcastle 0-0 Barcelona

    Chris Waddle
Former Newcastle & England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Newcastle have got to keep up the tempo that they did in the first half, they caused a lot of problems.

They got the ball out wide a lot but they need to get a few more black and white shirts in the box.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:03 GMT 10 March

    Atalanta 0-3 Bayern Munich

The ball is rolling for the second half in Bergamo, where Bayern have been scintillating.

The visitors have brought fit-again Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies on for Serge Gnabry and Konrad Laimer.

Nice to have strength in depth like that, eh?

  10. 'From the first minute we didn't play a good game'published at 21:01 GMT 10 March

    FT: Galatasaray 1-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, speaking to Uefa: "What makes it so difficult? I think we make it difficult ourselves.

"From the first minute, we didn't play a good game. I think we could score, in the first 10 minutes I think we had four chances and we didn't make it.

"Then if they score one with this defence and this atmosphere, it will be difficult. It was a poor game but next week we have Anfield so we need to be spot on then."

On the second leg: "At Anfield, with our fans, under the lights, we need to show them that we can do it because today it was not enough.

"We play at home, we need our fans and then it will be a different game again. Of course, we are 1-0 behind but I think we can turn it around."

  11. 'We can play better but we had enough chances'published at 21:00 GMT 10 March

    FT: Galatasaray 1-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot, speaking to Uefa: "There were a lot of similarities between three months ago and now.

"We had multiple chances to score. After 10-15 minutes you expect us to lead and then their first attack leads to a set-piece goal. Last time it was a penalty. And another disallowed goal from us, so a lot of similarities."

On second leg: "You play two games against each other and now it's half-time, they're 1-0 up. We can do better, I'm 100% sure about that. But even with the game we've just played, we had enough chances to score goals.

"We didn't but next week we play at Anfield and our fans will be so supportive for us. I think that was today the situation for Galatasaray. They had great support from their fans, it was difficult for us to play in.

"Let's hope we can create the same atmosphere next week at Anfield."

  12. 'Everything that could have gone wrong has for Tottenham'published at 21:00 GMT 10 March

    HT: Atletico Madrid 4-1 Tottenham

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It really smells of a manager massively under a pressure, looking for answers. I've never seen a manager substitute a goalkeeper in all my years of playing. Everything that could possibly have gone wrong for Tottenham has done.

Let's be realistic they're never going to win the Champions League, tonight was about putting in a performance to build into the weekend. They look so devoid of confidence.

  13. Far from 'beautiful'published at 20:58 GMT 10 March

    HT: Atletico Madrid 4-1 Tottenham

    Elizabeth Conway
    BBC Sport Spanish football reporter

Igor Tudor told press yesterday he was looking forward to playing a 'beautiful game of football...' It's been far from beautiful.

  14. Newcastle will take heart from first halfpublished at 20:57 GMT 10 March

    HT: Newcastle 0-0 Barcelona

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park

Newcastle United assistant Jason Tindall was waiting by the mouth of the tunnel to have a word with referee Marco Guida as the officials leave the field to loud boos at half-time.

The hosts will take encouragement from that first-half display. They have caused Barcelona some nervy moments from set-plays and Anthony Elanga has put in some teasing deliveries from the right.

As obvious as it sounds, the first goal will, of course, be crucial in this tie.

Barcelona managed to score it in the second half when the teams previously met in September and Newcastle have to strike a careful balance between pushing forward after the break and ensuring they are still very much in the tie for the second leg at the Nou Camp next week.

I'm a Liverpool fan and I actually feel sorry for Spurs fans. They don't deserve this. The leadership of the club should hang their heads in shame. Beautiful ground, great supporters, and they mess it up time after time.

  16. 'Tudor trying to protect himself'published at 20:54 GMT 10 March

    HT: Atletico Madrid 4-1 Tottenham

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

I wonder where Antonin Kinsky is now. Is he sat waiting for his team-mates to come into the dressing room? What will his next conversation be with the manager?

The problem is the attitude with Tottenham because that is terrible. Igor Tudor is making decisions to try and protect himself.

  17. Postpublished at 20:52 GMT 10 March

Kevin Danso, Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro went straight over to Antonin Kinsky as he left the pitch to show their support.

It was a disastrous 17 minutes for the 22-year-old Czech.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:51 GMT 10 March

    Atletico Madrid 4-1 Tottenham

How to pick the bones out of that?

Spurs needed a good start and they got exactly the opposite.

Three mistakes, three goals. One goalkeeper hooked off after 17 minutes. Another goal conceded.

Pedro Porro pulled a goal back, but Spurs have been absolutely dreadful.
