  1. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 16:26 BST 8 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 17-2

It should have been a third for Warwickshire!

A catch goes down - we think by Rob Yates - off Olly Hannon-Dalby and James Wharton escapes.

He's batting alongside Matt Revis now.

  2. Postpublished at 16:24 BST 8 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 17-2

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It’s not getting any easier to bat out there and now the lights are on. It is fraught out there.

    It really is quite gloomy.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:21 BST 8 May

    Bean lbw Bamber 13 (Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 15-2)

Make that 12 wickets to fall today at Edgbaston.

Fin Bean makes 13 before Ethan Bamber traps him lbw.

There's still a lot of overs to be bowled today, where might we be by 6pm I wonder?!

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:20 BST 8 May

    Dawson b Mulder 6 (Essex v Hants 217-6)

Essex strike quickly after tea and Liam Dawson can make no impression.

He’s cleaned up by Wiaan Mulder, leaving a gap between bat and pad the width of the A12.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:16 BST 8 May

    Lyth c Davies b Hannon-Dalby 2 (Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 11-1)

An eleventh wicket falls in about 59 overs of this contest as a whole as Adam Lyth edges behind.

Olly Hannon-Dalby, who has taken lots of wickets for Worcestershire on loan this season, has a first for Warwickshire.

Still plenty in this pitch for the bowlers it would seem.

  6. Tea at Hovepublished at 16:14 BST 8 May

    Sussex v Leics 214-7

Sussex with their head in front at tea after those two late wickets.

A 92 opening stand but no partnership of significance since for the Foxes.

They need some lower order runs in the final season.

Ian Holland 31 not out at the break.

  7. Yorkshire reply under waypublished at 16:03 BST 8 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 5-0

A lively first over as Yorkshire reply to Warwickshire's 147.

A couple of lbw appeals from Ethan Bamber - both refused - and a boundary from Fin Bean.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:03 BST 8 May

Green lbw Carson 0 (Sussex v Leics 209-7)

Two balls later and Jack Carson has another!

Ben Green playing for turn, or getting the angle wrong, is beaten on the outside edge and struck on the back pad in front of middle and off.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:02 BST 8 May

    Cox c Tear b Carson 13 (Sussex v Leics 209-6)

    Excellent catch!

Poor stroke from Ben Cox as he taps a full ball heading down leg straight to short leg.

But it’s travelling and an awkward height for Charlie Tear under the lid.

He gets his hands up sharply and holds on really well near his left shoulder. Great reactions.

  10. Bad light stops play at Old Traffordpublished at 16:01 BST 8 May

    Lancs 172-7 v Middlesex

The floodlights had been on for a while, but the dark clouds have diminished visibility further and the umpires, having consulted their light meters, are taking the players off.

Tea will be taken early - with another 3.5 overs scheduled to be bowled in that session - and we'll see whether it's brightened up at all after a cuppa.

  12. Tea at Cardiffpublished at 15:59 BST 8 May

    Somerset 232-5 v Glamorgan

Sixty-four overs down and we're off for a break in Cardiff.

A decent spell for Glamorgan since lunch, they've taken four wickets after seeing Somerset resume on 104-1.

Josh Thomas, Tom Lammonby, Archie Vaughan and Will Smeed have all fallen for the visitors, with 18-year-old Tom Norton claiming his first two County Championship casualties with the ball.

Craig Overton and Tom Abell head back to the pavilion having built the second best stand of the day so far for Somerset with 41.

  13. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:58 BST 8 May

    Notts 239-3 v Surrey

Nottinghamshire will be very happy with that session after Joe Clarke and Jack Haynes batted right through it to guide the defending champions into a solid position.

Clarke goes to tea just seven short of his hundred, while Haynes is on 77 not out.

  14. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:53 BST 8 May

    Essex v Hants 216-5

A century stand between Jake Lehmann and Ben Brown, 105 for the fifth wicket, has kept Hampshire in the day.

But having got rid of Lehmann for 89, even with only one wicket in the afternoon session, Essex are still on top.

Brown takes tea 66 not out.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:52 BST 8 May

    Eskinazi c Robinson b Carson 14 (Sussex v Leics 189-5)

Leicestershire were easing towards tea with the day heading back their way.

    But they’ve lost Stephen Eskinazi.

He gets into a tangle trying to work Jack Carson’s off spin to leg and an inside edge via pad loops up to slip.

Get Involvedpublished at 15:51 BST 8 May

    Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire

Based on Yorkshire's batting so far this season I'm expecting us to be bowled out ourselves for less than 100. Here's hoping they prove me wrong.

    Karl, Leeds

  17. Postpublished at 15:46 BST 8 May

    Somerset 218-5 v Glamorgan

Steady progress from most of the Somerset batsmen so far today, but every so often there's a little burst of back-to-back boundaries.

Craig Overton this time who hits a couple of successive tidy fours off Zain ul Hassan and moves onto 19 from 21 balls.

We're a few overs away from tea in Cardiff.

  18. Postpublished at 15:45 BST 8 May

    Notts 230-3 v Surrey

Joe Clarke is starting to accelerate again - he pulls Adam Thomas through midwicket for four and then steers his next delivery to the boundary as well.

Clarke has advanced to 89, but the 90s have been rather like a game of Snakes and Ladders for him this season - only once has he made it to three figures.

So Clarke certainly won't have the century chalked off already in his mind just yet.

  19. Glamorgan fight back but Somerset 'reasonably happy'published at 15:44 BST 8 May

    Glamorgan v Somerset 216-5

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan’s bowlers have fought back in the afternoon sunshine after Somerset reached 138 before losing their second wicket, Josh Thomas and Tom Lammonby putting together a stand of 133.

Thomas reached a hard-working 71 as he and Lammonby put away the odd bad ball on a grassy pitch to get their team on the front foot.

But tall Aussie paceman Ryan Hadley broke the stand when Thomas played on, and burly young debutant Tom Norton claimed his first two wickets as Lammonby was lbw for 45 playing no shot and Archie Vaughan (17) was caught behind.

Will Smeed, trying to nail down a red-ball place along with his white-ball heroics, edged Timm van der Gugten to slip for 12, but Somerset will be reasonably happy to have got past 200 with five down in testing conditions.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:39 BST 8 May

    Hartley c Cracknell b Higgins 3 (Lancs 164-7 v Middlesex)

Ryan Higgins does the trick again, coming around the wicket to Tom Hartley and persuading him to nibble one behind.

Tom Bailey is next in for Lancashire, who could do with one of his lower-order recovery jobs here.
