    Worcs 147-4 v Durham

    Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport cricket correspondent at New Road

We're an hour into the afternoon session and Ben Stokes has no bowled, in which time Worcestershire have not lost a wicket. It's a tricky balance. Stokes no doubt has to manage his workload, but in this game he is Durham's opening bowler...

Keaton Jennings for a Test recall (laughing emoji)

    Ralf, Blandford

He has three half-centuries in as many matches this season.

    Stranger things have happened...

50 for Joe Clarkepublished at 14:37 BST 8 May

    Notts 150-3 v Surrey

    Nottinghamshire's Joe ClarkeImage source, Shutterstock

What a great start to the season it's been for Joe Clarke - this is the sixth time he's posted 50 in eight innings.

Clarke was stuck on 49 for quite a while, with Jack Haynes doing most of Notts' recent scoring, and the shot that earned him the extra one wasn't the prettiest, a leg-side heave off Dan Lawrence.

The home side won't mind too much as the total moves on to 150.

Surprised Yorkshire have left out that bloke Root. He bowled really well in the last round of matches.

    John, London

Apologies if I’ve missed it, where is Joe Root today? Is it a straight rotation for Brook? Shame if he’s fit given his recent performance!

    Sam, York

Joe Root has been rested today as part of the ECB's management of player workloads - he is due back next week against Surrey when Root and Brook are both set to play.

    Jones b Morgan 27 (Lancs 115-4 v Middlesex)

    Sebastian MorganImage source, Getty Images

Sebastian Morgan's really deserved a wicket today - and he produces a beauty to castle Michael Jones.

Morgan had beaten Jones a couple of times already in the over and this one slants in, then straightens to send the off stump flying.

Matty Hurst is next in for Lancashire.

  6. Postpublished at 14:26 BST 8 May

    Somerset 149-3 v Glamorgan

Archie Vaughan - son of former England captain, Michael - settles into his innings with a couple of boundaries from Ryan Hadley deliveries.

This one is finely poised at the moment, and Vaughan and partner Tom Abell will look to replicate the 103-run partnership put on by Tom Lammonby and Josh Thomas earlier for Somerset.

    Essex v Hants 139-4

Ben Brown has come in for Hampshire and gone swiftly to 28 in 37 balls.

He’s whacked Simon Harmer over long-on for six and very sweetly punched Sam Cook off the back foot for four through cover-point.

Half-century stand up with Jake Lehmann in 65 deliveries and Hants trying to battle back.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:22 BST 8 May

    Malik c Bean b Cliff 10 (Warwickshire 102-7 v Yorkshire)

This really is not good for the hosts as they lose their seventh wicket - Zen Malik for 10 - the second in quick succession after lunch.

Jordan Thompson and Michael Booth are the new partnership.

We're only in the 37th over at Edgbaston but Yorkshire might have their sights on bowling the hosts out fairly shortly.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:19 BST 8 May

    Hain c Brook b White 57 (Warwickshire 94-6 v Yorkshire)

Just when you thought things might be looking brighter for Warwickshire after Sam Hain's half-century...

He has been the one Bears batter who can take any credit out of the game so far but he departs with Jack White picking up a third wicket as Harry Brook takes the catch.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:13 BST 8 May

    Lammonby b Norton 45 (Somerset 138-3 v Glamorgan)

    Two in as many overs!

A maiden County Championship for 18-year-old Tom Norton, who gets Tom Lammonby lbw for 45 off 104 balls.

It's a bonus point for the hosts too, and this game has changed drastically from where we were two overs ago.

Tom Abell joins Archie Vaughan in the middle.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:10 BST 8 May

    Thomas b Hadley 71 (Somerset 138-2 v Glamorgan)

Finally! Josh Thomas' stubborn resistance is broken and Glamorgan have something to show for their efforts, as Ryan Hadley proves too hot to handle and the opener returns to the pavilion after 129 balls.

A 133-run stand with Tom Lammonby comes to an end, as Archie Vaughan comes to the crease.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:09 BST 8 May

    Budinger b Robinson 14 (Sussex v Leics 122-3)

    Ollie Robinson strikes!

Round the wicket, angles a full ball into the left-handed Sol Budinger, who plays all around it snd loses his off stump.

  13. Postpublished at 14:05 BST 8 May

    Notts 124-3 v Surrey

After that expensive over just before lunch, Dan Worrall is back in the groove of putting the ball in the right area and moving it away to bamboozle the batters.

Jack Haynes has negotiated a few of those since he came to the middle and he's scored 12 so far, with Joe Clarke moving on to 44.

  14. Hose and D'Oliveira lead fightbackpublished at 14:04 BST 8 May

    Worcestershire 107-4 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Adam Hose and Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira have fought back following their side's early struggles in the morning session. Their stand so far for the fift wicket is worth 55.

Hose did have a stroke of luck in the first over after lunch though. He edged a delivery from Ben Raine to second slip, but Kasey Aldridge couldn't hold on to a low chance. The batsman was on his pre-lunch total of 28 at the time.

He now has 34 and D'Oliveira is on 22. It's vital for the hosts' sake they are not bowled out cheaply because they are missing key bowlers and are fielding two in their bowling attack with little to no experience of First Class cricket in Jack Home and Harry Darley.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Sam Hainpublished at 14:00 BST 8 May

    Warwickshire 86-5 v Yorkshire

The flurry of 50s continues with Warwickshire's Sam Hain.

He's got there in 79 balls with seven fours in just under two hours.

More importantly for his side he has stayed in and added some much-needed runs after Yorkshire took five wickets in the morning session.

Hain is still the only Bears batter to make double figures.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Jake Lehmannpublished at 13:58 BST 8 May

    Essex v Hants 108-4

Hampshire need a partnership this afternoon and here’s something to build on.

Jake Lehmann goes to fifty in 98 balls by pulling Simon Harmer for four through midwicket. His eighth boundary.

Very good from the 33-year-old Australian and his fifth consecutive half-century.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Keaton Jenningspublished at 13:58 BST 8 May

    Lancs 93-3 v Middlesex

Lancashire's Keaton JenningsImage source, Getty Images

Keaton Jennings caresses a Ryan Higgins half-volley to the off-side boundary and then turns the next one away for a single that takes him to 50 from 107 balls.

It's the 50th 50 of Jennings' first-class career and the third time he's passed the landmark this season.

  19. Postpublished at 13:51 BST 8 May

    Lancs 84-3 v Middlesex

Ryan Higgins is getting a bit of movement off the seam in this post-lunch spell, with Middlesex looking to make further inroads after those three wickets in the first session.

Keaton Jennings is the man whose wicket they'd particularly like to take, with the opener on 45 while Michael Jones has seven runs to his name so far.

Shortly after lunch and Somerset reach another milestone as Josh Thomas (58) and Tom Lammonby (42) tick their partnership into three figures.

It feels ever such a long time ago that Glamorgan removed James Rew in the third over.
