    Revis lbw Hannon-Dalby 5 (Warwickshire 147 v Yorkshire 38-3)

Olly Hannon-Dalby missed out an a wicket a short time ago with that dropped catch from Rob Yates but he has better luck this time.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:50 BST 8 May

    Patterson-White lbw b Abbott (Notts 256-7 v Surrey)

And there's another for Sean Abbott!

He pierces Liam Patterson-White's defences after just two balls and the left-hander is on his way for a duck.

Fergus O'Neill is next in and centurion Joe Clarke must be wondering what on earth's going on at the other end.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:47 BST 8 May

    James c Smith b Abbott 2 (Notts 256-6 v Surrey)

This is turning into a middle-order collapse by Nottinghamshire...

Sean Abbott gets in on the wicket-taking act, persuading Lyndon James to push outside off stump and Jamie Smith does the rest.

Three wickets for just five runs now as Liam Patterson-White emerges to join Joe Clarke.

  4. wicket

HAMPSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 16:46 BST 8 May

Yusuf lbw Mulder 0 (Essex v Hants 235)

And the collapse is complete as Codi Yusuf is trapped low on the front pad by Wiaan Mulder.

After a poor start, Hampshire were back in the day at 193-4.

But they’ve tumbled away badly either side of tea to lose 6-42, including the last four for just seven runs.

Essex will be delighted after winning the toss. Sam Cook and Mulder each with three wickets.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Tom Abellpublished at 16:43 BST 8 May

    Somerset 255-5 v Glamorgan

The second-highest score in the Somerset ranks today, as Tom Abell picks up a half century, moments after partner Craig Overton secures a bonus batting point for his side.

90 balls and five fours to reach 50 for the fourth time this campaign. He'll want to make sure he can turn that into a third century of the season.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:42 BST 8 May

    Bailey c Cracknell b Morgan 11 (Lancs 188-8 v Middlesex)

Sebastian Morgan strikes again after tea!

Tom Bailey chases a wide delivery and nicks it through to Joe Cracknell, who's now taken four catches in the innings.

Mitch Stanley is the penultimate batter for Lancashire.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:41 BST 8 May

    Brown c Elgar b Mulder 73 (Essex v Hants 235-9)

    Proper collapse from Hampshire now.

Ben Brown falls after a fine knock.

And it’s an ignominious end as he goes to turn Wiaan Mulder to leg and gets a leading edge to cover.

    Job almost done for Essex.

  8. Postpublished at 16:40 BST 8 May

    Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport cricket correspondent at New Road

It's raining again. Stokes bowled five balls before the umpires called for the covers.

  9. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 16:38 BST 8 May

    Worcestershire 149-4 v Durham

Aaaaaand we're off again at New Road. We said those clouds looked ominous and so it has proved, with the hosts unable to add any runs to the total after six balls.

This could be it for the day, watch this space.

  10. wicket

Hampshire lose another three balls later!

    And … oh dear.

Scott Currie drives into cover where there’s a half save.

Ben Brown is through for an easy single.

But Currie is ball watching, stops, arm out, realises Brown is coming, desperately sets off up the wicket but is run out by a wide margin.

  11. Five-wicket haul for Dan Worrallpublished at 16:35 BST 8 May

    Verreynne c Thomas b Worrall 0 (Notts 251-5 v Surrey)

    Surrey's Dan WorrallImage source, Shutterstock

Suddenly Surrey are right back in this as Dan Worrall claims a five-for!

Late swing accounts for Kyle Verreynne, who steers his third ball straight into the hands of second slip - and that's a double wicket maiden for the Surrey seamer.

The afternoon session was Nottinghamshire's... this is very much Surrey's so far.

  12. Postpublished at 16:34 BST 8 May

    Worcs 149-4 v Durham

Back under way at New Road, Ben Stokes straight into the attack...

  13. Play Resumes at New Roadpublished at 16:33 BST 8 May

    Worcestershire 149-4 v Durham

It took a while but the weather has finally allowed the covers to come off in Worcester.

We've lost about 13 overs, but players are back out and we're all set to go again.

Adam Hose (59) and Brett D'Oliveira (37) take their places in the middle.

The clouds in the distance don't look too inviting, though, but here's hoping.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:32 BST 8 May

Currie run out 0 (Essex v Hants 229-8)

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:32 BST 8 May

    Haynes c&b Worrall 82 (Notts 251-4 v Surrey)

There's to be no hundred for Jack Haynes, though...

He drives a decent length delivery straight back at Dan Worrall, who takes his second return catch of the day and now has all four wickets to fall.

That ends the partnership of 146 and brings Kyle Verreyne to the middle.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:32 BST 8 May

    Fuller c&b Harmer 9 (Essex v Hants 228-7)

    Another strike for Essex.

James Fuller aims a straight drive at Simon Harmer but can’t keep it down and the bowler leaps to his right to take a smart return catch.

  17. 'Vastly improved bowling performance since lunch'published at 16:30 BST 8 May

    Sussex v Leics 214-7

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex

A vastly improved bowling performance since lunch has seen Sussex take 5-104 in 36 overs with off spinner Jack Carson taking thee of those wickets and four in the match.

Things could have been worse for the visitors, but Sussex have spilled four catches, although Charlie Tear took a brilliant reflex catch at short leg to dismiss Ben Cox

Skipper Ian Holland has battled away surviving the session facing 90 balls for his 31 runs and given a stern examination by Ollie Robinson and Henry Crocombe

  18. Play resumes at Old Traffordpublished at 16:29 BST 8 May

    Lancs 172-7 v Middlesex

The good news is that the sky is brighter, the covers are off and it's barely been a delay - more a slightly extended tea interval - as the match resumes.

  19. 100 runs

100 for Joe Clarkepublished at 16:28 BST 8 May

    Notts 246-3 v Surrey

Nottinghamshire's Joe Clarke raises his batImage source, Shutterstock

No nervous 90s for Joe Clarke this time!

Clarke adds six runs in the first over after tea, then pulls Gus Atkinson for a single that takes him to three figures for the second time this season.

Clarke's ton comes from 169 balls and this kind of performance underlines why he's the County Championship's leading run-scorer.

  20. 50 runs

50 partnership for Overton and Abellpublished at 16:27 BST 8 May

    Somerset 241-5 v Glamorgan

Much needed this for the visitors this, as Craig Overton and Tom Abell combine for the second-highest partnership of the innings for Somerset.

After losing four wickets for 53 runs, these two have steadied the ship, in much the same way Josh Thomas and Tom Lammonby did earlier with their 133-run stand.
