    Dudgeon c Robinson b Roach 22 (Durham 335 v Kent 188-9)

What a ball, and what a catch.

Kemar Roach comes back into the attack and immediately ends the 52-run stand for the ninth wicket as he finds the edge of Keith Dudgeon's bat and Ollie Robinson takes a brilliant catch low to his right inches above the ground.

Glenton Stuurman is the last man in, with Sam Northeast on 89* at the other end. Some effort, this has been.

    Roland-Jones lbw Hammond 1 (Middlesex 437-9 v Glos)

    One brings two.

Especially after a mammoth innings, it is so often the way.

Toby Roland-Jones gets just one off three balls as Miles Hammond strikes twice in the 130th over.

2-2 off his one over, why did he not get a bowl earlier skip?!

  4. Postpublished at 14:56 BST 4 April

    Leics 201-7 v Sussex 361

As Adrian Harms of BBC Sussex recalls gigs by The Who in Brighton, Ben Green off-drives Tom Price for four to take the Leicestershire total beyond 200. Only a few more needed to make sure of not having to follow-on.

  5. Postpublished at 14:55 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 202-2 v Surrey 328

The deficit is down to 126 and Warwickshire are closing in on a batting point as they continue to rattle along just north of four an over.

    Du Plooy b Hammond 182 (Middlesex 435-8 v Glos)

    Leus du PlooyImage source, Shutterstock

Leus du Plooy does not reach a first game double hundred.

    Still a magnificent effort though.

Miles Hammond has been working on his bowling fitness over the winter to play a more pivotal role for his side with bat and ball this season having not bowled as much as he would have liked last campaign.

A big scalp to get his personal season up and running, but take nothing away form a superb knock from Middlesex's LDP, take a bow sir.

  7. Postpublished at 14:53 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 v Kent 185-8

Lovely clip off his pads from Sam Northeast off Ben Raine, his 13th boundary, and he's moved onto 88*.

He has also shared a vital 50-stand with Keith Dudgeon in 84 balls, which has staved off the threat of the follow-on.

They are now 148 in arrears with two wickets in hand.

for Colin Ingrampublished at 14:48 BST 4 April

    Glamorgan 224-6 v Yorks

Colin Ingram continues last season's form when he made over 1,000 Championship runs as he completes the 27th first-class century of his career off 225 balls with a cover drive for four off Ben Coad.

It's his final scoring stroke as a beauty next up from Coad has him caught behind by stand-in keeper Fin Bean and the South African goes on his way for 103.

    Great innings for his side.

  9. Postpublished at 14:48 BST 4 April

    Glamorgan 220-6 v Yorks

    Ben Coad can't believe it.

He finds the edges of first Colin Ingram, then Timm van der Gugten, and both bisect the slip cordon and run away for four.

  10. Postpublished at 14:48 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 v Kent 178-8

Keith Dudgeon does not consider himself a No10, make no mistake.

He swivels like a prima ballerina to hook a short one from Matthew Potts to the rope at long leg and move to 20* from 57 balls.

Any opener in the world would be proud of that one.

The deficit is down to 157 as the clouds part and some sun peeps through, perhaps making things a touch less oppressive for the Kent batters.

  11. Derbyshire declarepublished at 14:45 BST 4 April

    Derbys 625-8 dec v Worcs

    Finally, relief for Worcestershire.

Harry Came calls his batters in at the fall o Ben Aitchison's wicket - caught in the deep on the off-side by Jake Libby off Adam, Finch for 17.

Zak Chappell is left unbeaten on 33 from 33 balls and it's now up to the Derbyshire attack to try and press home their advantage.

Matt Critchley's innings is going seriously under the radar, came in with Essex in trouble and has guided them brilliantly, serious knock.

    Will, Essex

Critchley has passed 150 in Essex's total of 375-6, some effort.

  13. Postpublished at 14:43 BST 4 April

    Hants v Essex 376-6

Eddie Jack has gone for 98 in his 17 overs and too often is bowling a four ball (or in that most recent over two six balls) to release the pressure.

He is by no means the only culprit but he has given up 11 fours square of the wicket either side which suggests he has been too short too often.

  14. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:41 BST 4 April

    Derbys 618-7 v Worcs

The Worcestershire agony goes on as Ben Aitchison clubs Tom Taylor over mid-wicket for six.

Taylor tries a slower ball next up and Aitchison drills it past mid-off for four.

One crumb of comfort for the Pears, we suppose, is that this is a pretty flat track.

  15. Postpublished at 14:41 BST 4 April

    Mid 434-7 v Glos

Gloucestershire won the toss and chose to field first remember.

Are they regretting that as an also depleted Middlesex side plod on towards half a thousand runs in their first innings of the season?

England Under 19s seamer Seb Morgan is back from Zimbabwe playing the side he made just his third first-class appearance against at Lords in September, he is trying to get his senior partner Leus du Plooy to a double ton.

    He is currently 181*.

  16. Postpublished at 14:41 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 v Kent 171-8

Matty Potts would been taking wickets bowling like this in a Test, and plenty of them.

He has 3-40 from 18 overs as is, but he's seen a couple of drops in the slips, missed the edge on countless occasions with late movement and has found the inside edge only to see the ball flash across the stumps three times in his latest seven-over spell.

Sam Northeast punishes a wider one from the final ball of his latest over to move to 79* from 121 balls, but Ben Raine is coming back on after a rest at the other end.

it's not been great for Kent, but they won't face an attack like this in conditions like this every week of the season.

  17. wicket

Postpublished at 14:40 BST 4 April

    McSweeney c Bell b Bailey 32 (Northants 110-7 v Lancs 384)

Nathan McSweeney plays inside a regulation outswinger and George Bell takes a simple catch to his right at a wide first slip.

Northants are creaking seven down and losing the battle to avoid the follow-on.

  18. Postpublished at 14:37 BST 4 April

    Derbys 604-7 v Worcs

    Wild.

Zak Chappell throws everything he's got at that one from Tom Taylor and a top edge flies down to the third man boundary.

600 up for Derbyshire. Wonder when they last started a season with a first-innings total of that magnitude.

Do get in touch and remind us.

  19. Postpublished at 14:35 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 183-2 v Surrey 328

33 boundaries in 43 overs for the hosts.

Sam Hain has not seen much of the strike since coming in but produces a punch through the covers to the fence off James Taylor which looks so effortlessly perfect it might have been ripped out of a textbook and laminated.

He's into double figures, Dan Mousley has 34* from 50 balls. They trail by 145 with 52 overs and change left in the day.

  20. 200 up for Glamorganpublished at 14:35 BST 4 April

    Glamorgan 200-6 v Yorks

Colin Ingram clips spinner Dom Bess to the mid-wicket boundary to move into the 90s and push Glamorgan's first innings total up to 200.

A rare loose ball from Bess, who has been pretty economical so far.
