    The Mercedes team radio is red-hot now as Kimi Antonelli gets back ahead of George Russell after the pair scrap for the lead at the final corner. The Italian is told to give the position back, and he does, but he's not happy at all.

    It's Kimi Antonelli's turn to lock-up! The teenager is off the track and goes wide at the hairpin and George Russell sweeps through to once again head the field in Montreal.

    Kimi Antonelli retakes the lead of the Canadian Grand Prix! It's another lock-up by George Russell and the Italian is ready to pass. Antonelli leads, Russell goes into second.

    If you are Russell, you want to keep going out on track until your tyres are absolutely dead because if you leave anything, any life left in these tyres before you switch, you can make a safe assumption that your team-mate has life in them too. If Russell pills into the pits and if there is anything left in terms of performance in the tyres of Antonelli, he'll go and exploit that.

    Russell now has to eek this out, keep the lead and not let his team-mate in front and go as deep as he can before they make the decision to come in.

    Turn One is ripe for an overtake but Kimi Antonelli can't make it stick. The Italian inches closer coming out of the hairpin and as the pair complete lap 22, the chance to pass may present itself to the Italian teenager...

    Kimi Antonelli is staying right on the tail of George Russell but his team-mate is defending for his life out in front. Lando Norris is down in 12th place, with McLaren team-mate just behind in 13th.

    Norris, that pit stop for reliability reasons, he is back in the race. They changed his tyres, put some medium tyres on. It is difficult to know exactly what that would be. It could be something like the new matics, if that has had a leak - there is no way of topping that up other than coming into the pits and plugging in a compressed air bubble and boosting it back up and maybe that gives you more time.

    Turn 10 is George Russell's nemesis today. Kimi Antonelli can't swipe the polesitter's lead on this lap, despite a good effort to put the Briton under pressure, and Russell is ahead by four tenths.

    George Russell suffers anpother lock up towards the end of the lap and Kimi Antonelli is ready to launch an attack. The pair are landing punches on each other but Russell just about survives the rundown to Turn One and stays in the lead in Montreal.

  16. Problems for Norris

    It's been a difficult race for McLaren and we're only 16 laps in. Lando Norris makes another trip to the pits for an issue and is now running in 15th place.

    The Mercedes cat-and-mouse chase is keeping the fans entertained. George Russell locked-up at the hairpin a few laps ago but the Briton is holding firm in the lead against his younger team-mate.

    Alex Albon is out of this race! Did he make contact with Oscar Piastri at some point? The Australian has come into the pits again and is now down in 19th place.

    He is making good progress, Norris, in a far better way than his team-mate Piastri is. Don't forget Piastri pitted first, Norris a lap later. Now Norris is in P9 and Piastri is stuck in P13 so fighting their way through this traffic. Although as we said, it is a circuit you can overtake on, it costs you tyre degradation.
