George Russell says he's "lost for words" in the media pen. The Briton tells Sky Sports his car just conked out. He has that sprint win under his belt, but this will be a big loss to the team-mate Kimi Antonelli this weekend.
Will: Surely we're all at least low-key hoping Antonelli can keep this up all year and fully seize the opportunity first time of asking. Nothing beats a storied season with a young gun stamping his arrival.
The two Alpines of Franco Colapinto, sixth, and Pierre Gasly, eighth, are on for double points in Montreal. Liam Lawson is in the top 10 too, splitting the two team-mates.
Lando Norris has just been mobbed on his way back to the paddock.
There's a bit of debris on track, so the virtual safety car is deployed and a marshals legs it onto the track to pick it up. The VSC is a quick one, so let's go racing again.

We are starting to see Mercedes powered cars have technical issues and if you are in one of those positions, if you are are Lewis Hamilton, you want to be up to the back of Max Verstappen because that could become a battle for the lead of the race, if the second Mercedes succumbs to the same trouble as the others.
George Russell has made his way back to the paddock. It will be interesring to hear his thoughts on today's race. His Mercedes team-mate is still out in front by eight seconds from Max Verstappen.
Isack Hadjar has been handed a 10-second time penalty for multiple changes of direction during his tussle with Charles Leclerc. The Red Bull man is currently in fifth place with a red marker against his name.
So, Lando Norris is out, George Russell has retired, Fernando ALonso is also a goner, retiring when the others were battling out in front and Alex Albon is another who is a DNF today.

This is not looking good for Mercedes runners, two mechanical failures from somewhere in that power unit. I would suggest from both Norris and Russell, bringing both their races to an end. Kimi Antonelli will be running out front here and everybody will be nervous.
Lewis Hamilton has taken the purple stopwatch away from race leader Kimi Antonelli. The seven-time world champion is quitely going about his business and closing the gap to the front two.
Antonelli is on the radio to voice his feelings about some backmarkers. It looks like it was the Cadillac of Sergio Perez that caused the Italian's heart rate to soar.
Isack Hadjar needs to be careful with his defending. The Frenchman is pushing the limits on the back straight and Charles Leclerc can't find a way through. Hadjar is fourth, Leclerc is fifth.
Jack: How unfortunate. The racing upfront was brilliant while we had it but it looks to be a bit of a procession from here on in, barring another Mercedes going up in smoke.
