It's double points for Alpine with Franco Colapinto finishing sixth and Pierre Gasly in eighth. Liam Lawson ends his race seventh after starting 12th, Carlos Sainz also makes it into the points in ninth and Brit Oliver Bearman collects last the point for Haas in 10th.

Wow, I mean what a grand prix, what a race from start to finish. I think we were all on the edge of our seats, a brilliant victory for Antonelli. Extends his championship lead, heartbreak for Russell, total disappointment for everybody at McLaren.
Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli wins the Canadian Grand Prix!
The Italian teenager takes the applause from his Mercedes team with that fourth win in a row.
Lewis Hamilton is second, Max Verstappen is third, Charles Leclerc comes home in fourth and Isack Hadjar brings the second Red Bull over the line in fifth.
Kimi Antonelli is cruising out in front and will claim his fourth consecutive victory of the season when he takes the chequered flag shortly. It look like Max Verstappen has ran out of road in the bout for second place. Lewis Hamilton is almost there.
This tussle isn't over between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The Ferrari is under pressure from the Red Bull but Hamilton is almost home and dry for second place.

Verstappen was not going to give that up easily, he was still chasing Hamilton. He is chasing him in fact so hard, a massive lock up, he got away with it but it has opened the gap now to nearly one second.
Lewis Hamilton is on for second place but if he looks in his mirrors down the back straight, he'll see the Red Bull of Max Verstappen peeping and creeping. The seven-time world champion doesn't come under attack on this lap, so fellow multiple title winner Verstappen will have to wait for another opportunity.
Isack Hadjar was under investigation for a yellow flag infringement, and now he's been hit with a stop and go penalty. The Frenchman is still fifth, though, ahead of the Alpine of Franco Colapinto.

It is one of the strengths of Lewis Hamilton's driving style. He has the ability to gain time on the brakes and the circuit really suits that characteristic. This is why Lewis Hamilton loves coming here, it is why he is so fast here and it is really now coming to him. Verstappen does not have the confidence in those tyres to be able to throw it in the way he wants to.

That was really good. It was all about coming through that final chicane, way closer than he did in the previous few laps, when he tried to make that move.
He got the exit at that chicane perfectly right, Hamilton and it allowed him to get that boost on to the straights and close up alongside and nicely around the outside.
Kimi Antonelli leads, Lewis Hamilton is now second and Max Verstappen is third. The Dutchman hasn't given up hope of taking the place back, though, but Hamilton is in defence mode from here on in.

Lewis Hamilton has done it! It's a clean move by the Ferrari man around the outside at Turn One and now he's up into second place. Max Verstappen drops to the final podium place in third.
The order has settled down now, so the two Alpines of Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, Liam Lawson at Racing Bulls, Williams' Carlos Sainz and Haas' Oliver Bearman are all on for points in Montreal.
The crowd are cheering. Has seven-time winner Lewis Hamilton passed Max Verstappen?
As Lewis Hamilton says, he needs more power to attack the Red Bull. Another lap slips by and the Dutchman keeps a tight grip on second place. Kimi Antonelli, meanwhile, is nine second down the road and is heading for a fourth victory of the season.
