    We haven't really thought too much about Ferrari taking pole position. They've brought upgrades here to Barcelona but they've not really seemed to make a massive imapct on their performance, at least from what we can see from the timings.

    At the top of the leaderboard, Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton tops the times, just a tenth quicker than his former team-mate George Russell in the Mercedes.

    His current team-mate Charles Leclerc makes up the top three.

    Although they are both out of Q1, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll has out-qualified Fernando Alonso for the first time in 42 grands prix.

    Alex Albon also exits in the first part of qualifying. Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz has made it to Q2.

    "We're struggling here, there's no doubt about it," Williams team boss James Vowles told Sky Sports.

    Catching a yellow flag on your first push lap is the most infuriating thing. We've been talking about it all weekend, but these tyres only last for a lap and then you're not going to be able to improve on that tyre.

    Really, really not good for the Aston Martins, as that will probably confirm their drop into the elimination zone.

    Currently, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is the fastest car out on the circuit, his lap time is 1:15.625.
