  1. Tow the linepublished at 14:57 BST

Charles Leclerc had a request for Ferrari during third practice, which may have been hampered a little bit given the repair job needed for Lewis Hamilton's damaged car.

"I need some slipstream," said Leclerc to his engineer on the team radio. "Let's prepare for qualifying."

At the likes of Spa-Francorchamps, a decent tow in qualifying can help a driver gain significant lap time - and a better grid spot - but we haven't really seen much tag-team tactics being applied so far this season. With drivers taking Sunday penalties at Spa, will anyone offer a helping hand to a team-mate in need?

The other issue with the new generation of cars is having enough electrical energy to power you on the straights. World champion Lando Norris gave his views after Friday's opening practice sessions, saying there is a lack of deployment "everywhere, every single straight", adding the high-speed test of Blanchimont, the fastest corner at Spa, has now been decreased "because we just have no battery left."

  2. Grid penalties galorepublished at 14:54 BST

The Belgian Grand Prix is the definitely the place to take a grid penalty because of the overtaking opportunities available around Spa-Francorchamps, so the total number of drivers carrying a grid drop into today's qualifying session currently stands at four.

World champion Lando Norris was the first to be announced on Thursday. The McLaren driver has a 10-place penalty for exceeding the permitted number of engine parts. So if he does get close to Kimi Antonelli today, he'll be unfortunately dropping down the order tomorrow.

Over at Red Bull, Isack Hadjar, who came to a stop at the pit lane exit in third practice, will also serve a back-of-the-grid penalty in Belgium following engine component changes.

For Aston Martin, who have been running at the rear of the field all season anyway, Fernando Alonso has now joined team-mate Lance Stroll with his own grid penalty for tomorrow's 44-lap race for taking a new battery and new control electronics.

Looking like Lando could be a good surprise, maybe a top three is possible? Verstappen too could be an upset to the Mercedes-Ferrari usual top four.

  4. 'This part of the track can punish you'published at 14:45 BST

Alpine managing director Steve Nielsen stopped by Sky Sports after third practice to chat about Lewis Hamilton's late crash.

His driver Pierre Gasly also lost control on the exit of the Fagnes towards the end of second practice on Friday, clipping the barrier and tearing off his right rear wheel.

"That particular part of the track, the way the guard rail kicks out to protect the marshals, it punishes you if you go off," said Nielsen. "Lewis' accident looked very similar to Pierre's."

He added: "Pierre had slight understeer, got on the kerb and once you're on the kerb, you're a bit of a passenger and into the gravel and the guard rail after."

Lewis Hamilton stood at the side of the track at the end of final practice, just looking at his beat-up Ferrari after his huge crash in the middle sector.

The seven-time world champion was on his final lap of the session when he lost the rear of the car out of the Fagnes chicane, sending him screeching on to the gravel and hitting his right rear tyre against the barrier. If you haven't seen the replay of it yet, go and have a look at how the marshals jump out of the way.

After his car had come to a stop on track, Hamilton told his pit wall: "I've destroyed the car mate, sorry."

The small silver lining for Hamilton is he's been quicker than team-mate Charles Leclerc, who celebrated his first race win in nearly two years at Silverstone, so far this weekend

  6. Antonelli tops third practicepublished at 14:38 BST

After coming away empty handed from the main race at Silverstone two weeks ago, Kimi Antonelli will be determined to collect the full quota of points on offer at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix.

The championship leader, who was also quickest in second practice yesterday, clocked a 1:45.990 to finish ahead of Lando Norris by 0.139 seconds and Max Verstappen by 0.148secs.

Antonelli failed to improve on his final few laps on the soft tyre after first running wide at La Source and then sliding through Les Combes on his next attempt. Still, he was more than three tenths faster than his team-mate George Russell, who was fourth on the timesheets.

Lewis Hamilton was the quicker of the two Ferraris in fifth with Charles Leclerc sixth. Oscar Piastri ended his session in seventh, the two Audi's Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto were eighth and ninth and Isack Hadjar completed the top 10.

Hello, folks. The Ferrari mechanics on Lewis Hamilton's side of the garage have had to give up their dinner break in Belgium after the seven-time world champion's heavy shunt in final practice.

Hamailton's car picked up a lot of damage in the crash, just like Alpine's Pierre Gasly on Friday, so the team have been working frantically on the rear of his Scuderia to get him back up and running for today's qualifying session at 15:00 BST.

And good news, he's ready to compete. Well done to the Ferrari crew.

On track, Kimi Antonelli is heading into the fight for pole position having topped two of the three practice sessions at Spa-Francorchamps. The Italian teenager didn't improve on his soft lap time set earlier in the hour, so there are still a few tenths he could pull out in qualifying.

Lewis Hamilton crashed his Ferrari right at the end of final practice at the Belgian Grand Prix.

The seven-time champion lost control on the exit of the Fagnes left-right midway around the lap, in a very similar way to how Alpine’s Pierre Gasly crashed on Friday.

Hamilton’s right-rear wheel smashed into the barrier, leaving the Ferrari mechanics a lot of work to do to repair his car for qualifying at 15:00 BST.

Ferrari say they will be able to complete the necessary work in time.

Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli set the pace, continuing his impressive form from Friday, with a lap time 0.139 seconds quicker than McLaren’s Lando Norris.

The Italian’s time was set much earlier than the world champion’s. Norris is one of several drivers facing a 10-place grid penalty this weekend for using too many engine parts.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was third fastest, 0.148secs back, followed by Antonelli’s team-mate George Russell, who was 0.367secs off the pace.

Hamilton was fifth fastest ahead of team-mate Charles Leclerc.

Antonelli leads Russell by 25 points in the championship heading into the 10th race of the season.

Time to take a break, enjoy the sunshine and get some lunch.

We will be back at 14:30 BST to build-up to qualifying.

Kimi Antonelli was the fastest driver in final practice and will want to continue his form into qualifying and get pole position for Sunday's race.

Or will Max Verstappen pip him for pole position?

Elsewhere, Ferrari will be hard at work to get Lewis Hamilton's car back into the garage and fixed in time for qualifying.

Lights go green for Q1 at 15:00 BST and Lorraine will be back in the live text seat to take you though the session.

    See you then!
