    Britain's Lando Norris finishes third in Abu Dhabi, which is good enough to crown the McLaren driver 2025 drivers' champion!

    Norris is in tears on the team radio. "Thanks so much," he says to his team.

    The fastest laps are still being clocked by Charles Leclerc's Ferrari but as he's in fourth and Lando Norris is in third, Max Verstappen's chances of grabbing a fifth consecutive title are fading by the minute. McLaren have been on the radio to tell Norris to just keep it cool. No need to go all out now.

    Lap 56 and Lando Norris is almost there. A terrific 2025 season is coming to an end with McLaren ready to celebrate their first drivers' championship since Lewis Hamilton was a young pup in 2008.

    Max Verstappen leads, Oscar Piastri is second and Norris is third.

    I think one of the ways to keep your concentration and focus is to press on, Lando Norris can do it, he's not got an issue with his tyres I don't think.

    Can Lando Norris grab second place here? He's had a peek at his team-mate Oscar Piastri's tyres; but of graining going on? Maybe. But as Norris only needs to finish on the podium to take the crown, best not to take any late risks.

    Max Verstappen leads, Oscar Piastri second and Lando Norris is third. If the order finishes like this, Norris will be partying all night long as F1 title winner for the very first time. The last thing anyone needs is a late safety car, so keep your fingers crossed there's no late drama.

    Red Bull are fighters and they've fought like absolute tigers to get in the position to at least give themselves a chance.

    It's phenomenal really what they have been through with changes at the top.

    They are still pressing on and producing race winning cars and Max Verstappen is still the class of the field.

    Charles Leclerc is clocking fastest laps but the Ferrari man doesn't have enough pace to make Lando Norris squirm in this closing stages.

    Away from the title fight, Haas are on for double points in Abu Dhabi and Gabriel Bortoleto will collect points for Sauber.

    Norris: "I think a soft would be better, it's just if the Safety Car gets delayed or something."

    Track limits have been pinging throughout the race and now race leader Max Verstappen has been given a second strike. The TV cameras head ovaer to the McLaren garage and Lando Norris' mum, Cisca, looks as nervous as a mum can be. Norris is in third and will be enough for him to be crowned champion in 2025.

    Time for some words of encouragment from the McLaren pit wall. Lando Norris' engineer tells the Briton he's doing a great job and he's almost there to the title with a couple of racing laps to go.
