Jack in Kent: I hope Norris wins as it’ll be nice for a Brit to win a championship after Max’s recent dominance but I think he may bottle it near the end for a Max win… Come on Norris bring it home!

Pirelli told me on the grid that this hard tyre could last 40 laps easily, so Oscar Piastri is looking to go seriously long here now.

Engineer: "OK, you've got some clean air, let's see how the tyres recover."

That fight for third has been noted by race control. Lando Norris has the place and that will be enough for the Briton to be crowned to champion.

Oscar Piastri, who needs to outscore Norris by 17 points and Max Verstappen by five points and is yet to pit, is leading from the Dutchman.

Lando Norris overtakes Yuki Tsunoda but the Red Bull driver makes it a battle for the McLaren man. Norris ends up off the circuit when passing - did all four wheels leave the track? The stewards might take a look at that one.

Max Verstappen, meanwhile, makes his pit stop and switches over to the hard tyre from the medium.

Max Verstappen leads from Oscar Piastri by 2.4 seconds but the pair at the front are yet to pit.

Lando Norris has moved his way up to fourth but he's got Yuki Tsunoda, leaving Red Bull after this race, to content with next.

If Norris can't get past Tsunoda and he finishes fourth and Max Verstappen wins, the Dutchman will be champion.

Engineer: "We expect Norris to be in your DRS in one lap. All you can when he catches."

Tsunoda: "I know what to do, leave me to it,"

Lando Norris will catch Tsunoda quickly, but Tsunoda is on hard tyres, and he can stay out.

Remember what happened here four years ago. Lewis Hamilton got held up behind Sergio Perez, who was Max Verstappen's team-mate at the time. In the end, that was decisive in the late safety car period when Hamilton couldn't pit for new tyres as he didn't have enough gap to Verstappen.

So, let's see what happens with Tsunoda and Norris, as there is a bit of tension awaiting in the race.

Ross in Nuremberg: McLaren long stop strategy for Piastri, Verstappen will need a tyre change, Piastri can stay out, get ahead of and slow Max down, allowing Norris to pit with limited consequence. Good move.

The next challenge for Lando Norris is Yuki Tsunoda - Max Verstappen's team-mate. The Japanese driver needs to do a Sergio Perez from the 2021 decider and keep the Dutchman's rivals frustrated. The call has come in for Tsunoda, so let's see what he can do.
