One of the 10 drivers to make it into Q3 is Alpine's Franco Colapinto.
It is his first Q3 appearance this season.
He joins Max Verstappen, Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Lando Norris, Isack Hadjar and team-mate Pierre Gasly for the last qualifying session.
Lando Norris is very far from safe, I would say, as everyone has got a run to go. There aren't that many you would think who are going to improve that much to beat him, but Pierre Gasly is only just over a tenth behind him, in 10th place, Liam Lawson in the Racing Bulls is sixth tenths, so... I don't know. It's a bit sketchy, like it was for Oscar Piastri.

I think the pressure is on Lando Norris now. It was Oscar Piastri previously, so it just shows how quickly it swings around. He has to get a clear and clean lap.
Guy: Lewis H is still a fiercely talented driver and competitor, he just gets talked down because it’s more interesting than talking him up. Remember that he has led a race and out-raced Charles a lot this season.

It's quite significant that Red Bull seem to be out on the track this early on, as soon as possible. to get a lap time in. They're not waiting around for the track to improve or for other people to lay rubber down.
There is going to be a meeting after qualifying of Formula 1 and the FIA, just to have a look at the weather forecast and assess whether they need to think about changing the schedule [for the race] in any way.
They're obviously going to be looking at when the worst weather looks like it's going to hit, because there are thunderstorms, and thunderstorms effectively mean none of the spectators are going to be allowed into the grandstands at that point. And I don't think the race will be allowed to take place either, although cars are considered safe environments under US law when it comes to thunderstorms.
16 cars taking part in Q2. The red soft tyres are bolted on and the first lot of cars make their way out on to the circuit at the Miami International Autodrome.
We're expecting thunder, storms, rain, all of that stuff tomorrow. But today, these cars haven't run at this heat before, it's stepping into the unknown a bit.
The drivers are having to drive in a different way so they don't fully understand it, then working out how to cool these cars with the current new rules and regs. That's why everyone is struggling a bit.
