A high looping cross from Luca Stephenson finds fellow full-back Ryan Strain rising above his marker at the back post, but the header is well over the crossbar.

Will Kilmarnock see it out and narrow the gap with the visitors in the Premiership table?

That question about the disallowed goal has been cleared up.

VAR guidance has indicated that the onfield ruling was that there was a foul on United goalkeeper Dave Richards before Scott Tiffoney's header.

So it mattered not whether the ball had thereafter crossed the line.

Kilmarnock have a record of W2, D2, L0 when scoring the opening goal in the Premiership this season.

So United have a big task on their hands if they want to come from behind to win this one.

We are still wondering how Kilmarnock were not awarded a goal before they did score.

Midfielder Scott Tiffoney's header looked to have crossed the line after striking the underside of the crossbar, but no goal was given after a VAR check.

We don't have goalline technology in the Premiership, but maybe there was a foul on the visiting goalkeeper in the build-up.

There's one angle where I had my doubts, by I am trying not to talk myself out of it and I think it was a penalty [for Kilmarnock].

Kilmarnock are 45 minutes away from ending their dismal losing run.

At one end, on-loan Celtic goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi saved Max Watters penalty to deny United the opener.

Minutes after, Dave Richards did likewise at the other end against Bruce Anderson, but this time the Kilmarnock striker was on hand to score from the rebound.

Tiffoney didn't give up, kept battling away and managed to find Bruce Anderson in the box.

It's a good end to the first half for Kilmarnock.

A tale of two missed penalties.

It looks like the ball bounces over the line off the underside of the bar, but no goal given.

A huge goal for Kilmarnock. It's a good save initially. He just can't get up quick enough to get rid of it.

There's not been much between the teams, penalties at both ends, but Kilmarnock have taken their chance.

The recipient of the penalty earlier on, Krisztian Keresztes gives away a spot-kick inside his own box following a coming together with Marley Watkins!

It looked like they both went to head the ball and the referee decides the Killie forward got there first.
