Despite all of Chelsea’s technical quality and heavy investment, it’s Newcastle who are outworking them - running more, tackling harder, playing with greater cohesion, and showing a far higher level of intensity.

Oh so close to the hat-trick!

Anthony Gordon again with a superb delivery from the left and Nick Woltemade again sticks out a boot, but directs his volley just wide.

That really should have been his first senior hat-trick.

Very, very briefly it looks like Chelsea have pulled one back as Pedro Neto directs the ball into the net at the back post. Only problem is he directed it in with his hand, so it is very swiftly ruled out.

Highly predictable from Chelsea. Not learned lessons from Leeds defeat. They seem to think passion is smashing into tackles and dissent. It’s not. It’s what Newcastle are doing to them.

You look at who Chelsea have signed and there's a big turnover, so many are so far off the pace. I think that's where Enzo Maresca's frustrations lie, it's a demanding job. So much is expected from a club that you're expected to win every season. He's saying this is where I'm not getting the support, you'd love him to turnaround and explain his comments but I don't think he will.

When Liverpool signed Ekitike & Isak, United Sesko and Arsenal Gyokeres, it was pitched that Newcastle had to scramble for whatever was left in Woltemade. Not looking such a bad decision now is it?
