And relax... no more last-minute winners, no more red cards, no long-range blasts, 27 January, 2026, is in the EFL books.

Just the 49 goals, and only one 0-0 in our 21 games to beat the weather this evening... pity the poor Walsall and Crawley fans who missed out on the fun.

The League One promotion race is shaping up to be one for the ages, and the battle at the bottom isn't too shabby either.

It's an even more open race in the fourth tier with seven sides in the mix for the title, let alone the play-offs while there are a bunch of woefully out of form teams scrapping to remain in the Football League next August.

Thanks for your company tonight, we'll be back on Friday night for a spot of Bristol City v Derby in the Championship.

    We'll see you then!

Saying 'as you were' doesn't really do justice to the top four's evenings.

Cardiff and Lincoln romped to victory but Bolton needed a last-gasp winner against lowly Burton to keep pace with them, while Stockport saw-off Blackpool to leapfrog Bradford, who drop out of the top four for the first time in nearly five months.

Huddersfield remain in the top-six after seeing off Luton but Stevenage are three points back after ending their winless run against Peterborough who are one of seven teams separated by just two points in mid-table.

At the bottom Rotherham's precious win over Northampton has them within two points of safety while Doncaster's win has them above the Cobblers and in the drop-zone on goal difference alone and also hauls the O's into deep trouble.

Another night of twists and turns in League Two and more movement at the top.

MK Dons move up to second and Cambridge have climbed into the automatic promotion places.

Notts County gain two places in the play-off spots with victory over Swindon, who have dropped from second to seventh in four days.

Salford slip out of the top three after Chesterfield's late winner, which sees them move within two points of the top-seven.

No change at the bottom as all four bottom sides lose, but Crawley pick up a valuable point at promotion-chasing Walsall to move three clear of the relegation zone.

  4. League One Round-Uppublished at 22:04 GMT 27 January

A great night for the teams at the top!

Stockport conceded in stoppage time but that couldn't stop them from beating Blackpool 2-1.

Bolton also won by the same scoreline, but had to score a 93rd-minute winner to ward off Burton and stay third.

Emmanuel Adegboyega marked his Rotherham debut with the winner as the Millers turned around Northampton.

Dan Sweeney scored the only goal as Stevenage beat Peterborough to end their rot.

Wycombe eased to a 2-0 win over Wigan, while Plymouth and Mansfield couldn't be separated.

Doncaster cruised to a 3-0 win over Leyton Orient 3-0, while Exeter left it late to draw 2-2 with Reading.

  5. League Two Round-Uppublished at 21:57 GMT 27 January

Bromley conceded to Crewe in the 94th minute to draw for the second time in three matches.

Cambridge climbed up to third thanks to Ben Knight's 91st-minute penalty over Shrewsbury.

10-man Grimsby hung on to beat Colchester 1-0 and make it five wins and six clean sheets in a row. And Walsall and Crawley saw no goals.

At the bottom, 10-man Newport County were thumped 4-1 by Accrington, and Harrogate suffered late heartbreak to lose 2-1 to Fleetwood.

It's only three points, but it feels like three hard earned points from the heart.

The value is in the team effort - for Liam Manning, it's consecutive games he has seen his side put a heroic display on.

  8. League Two Updatepublished at 21:46 GMT 27 January

    MK Dons 1-0 Bristol Rovers

A vital win for MK Dons who move up to second in League Two.

Three wins in a row for MK, who are now undefeated in their past 10 games on home soil (W7 D3).

That's a third straight defeat for Bristol Rovers and the Gas suffer their 15th defeat in 17 games.

Steve Evans still has a lot of work to do to keep his side in the division.

A late goal at either end of the table!!

Mickey Demetriou has drawn Crewe level at Bromley, to cut the latter's lead at the top to six points.

At the bottom, Harrogate's hope of a much-needed point has been ruined by Fleetwood. Mathew Virtue-Thick has made it 2-1 in north Yorkshire.

    Huddersfield 1-0 Luton

Incredibly, despite playing more than an hour with 10-men, Huddersfield have landed a huge blow in the play-off race.

Alfie May saw red for tugging Kasey Palmer's hair as he tried to grab his shirt in midfield after just 29 minutes, but Luton couldn't make their advantage tell.

Ryan Ledson then scored one of the goals of the season a couple of minutes after the turnaround, capitalising on some slack play from Luton in midfield to smash in a sweet first-time strike from his own half and catch Josh Keeley off his line.

Liam Manning has been in situ less than a week but has six points and two clean sheets to show for it.

Jack Wilshere has work to do after back-to-back 1-0 defeats on the road leaves them playing catch-up on the top-six.

    Cardiff 4-0 Barnsley

The Bluebirds were all business as they maintain their advantage at the top of League One.

Perry Ng lashed them into a third minute lead, Chris Willock showed great composure to slot the second just before the break and, after teeing up Omari Kellyman to add a neat third, grabbed his second with a delightful dink over the keeper.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:40 GMT 27 January

    Cardiff 4-0 Barnsley

  17. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:39 GMT 27 January

    Notts County 2-1 Swindon

A huge win for Notts County in their bid for promotion.

That's three straight wins for the Magpies for only the second time this season thanks to Matthew Dennis' winner with his first touch of the game after coming on in the second half.

Swindon lose three straight league games for the first time since March 2024.

That's now five defeats from five games against fellow top-seven sides for Ian Holloway's men.

  18. League One Updatepublished at 21:38 GMT 27 January

    Salford 0-1 Chesterfield

Unbelievable. Huge celebrations for Chesterfield as they win for the first time in six games against League Two's in-form side.

Salford's nine-game unbeaten run (W7 D2) comes to an end in the most dramatic way possible.

Brandon Cooper's unfortunate own goal in the last minute of stoppage time is the difference.
