  1. 'Losing Semenyo like losing two or three players'published at 19:59 GMT 30 December 2025

    Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa and Man Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

On Semenyo's immenent departure from Bournemouth:

As a manager you can think to yourself, 'Bring the money in, I back myself as a coach', and I'm sure Iraola does.

But, Semenyo is such a big player that it is like losing two or three players

    Burnley 1-2 Newcastle United

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at Turf Moor

Turf Moor is alive with chants of "Come on Burnley! Come on Burnley!"

Scott Parker will be heartened by his side's response against Newcastle United.

Not only did Burnley go 2-0 down after just seven minutes - they also lost defender Maxime Esteve to injury.

But rather than going under, the hosts have shown real spirit to respond.

The next goal really does feel pivotal - even so early in the game.

    Burnley don't score many.

But that finish by Josh Laurent - his first in the Premier League - was a beauty.

What a game this is! Bournemouth are back level.

Antoine Semenyo's long throw is headed on by a Chelsea player and Justin Kluivert is there at the back post to stab in.

Level again but there's undoubtedly more goals in this.

    Chelsea 2-1 Bournemouth

I don't know how Fernandez has so much time in the box there? For Bournemouth no one really takes charge and he has all the time in the world in the opponent's box to pick out the top corner.

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on Sky Sports

What a response from Chelsea! It is a brilliant finish, I've got to say.

The defending from Bournemouth was woeful, it was just so lazy from Alex Scott. He has to do so much better there, but he just over commits and it allows Enzo Fernandez to compose himself.

    A tremendous and ruthless finish.

No Rice against an in form Villa. I fear for Arsenal tonight, this could be damning for them. Villa to win and I fancy them for the title.

    Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton

    Nick Mashiter
BBC Sport football news reporter at the City Ground

I had just been writing that only bottom side Wolves - who have scored just 10 - have netted fewer times than Nottingham Forest and Everton this season.

That dubious honour is now held by just Forest, who have only scored 18 goals in the Premier League so far. Everton have edged ahead on 19 after James Garner's strike.

It is the midfielder's - Garner is a former Forest loanee - first goal since scoring against Brighton in August.

Yasin Ayari tries to lob Alphonse Areola from waaaaay out.

The West Ham keeper is never in any danger though and jogs backwards to easily catch the ball.

    Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton

Nottingham Forest go in search of a quick response, having been in the ascendancy before Everton's opener, but Igor Jesus sends a tame header well wide.

Everton haven't lost any of the eight games in which they've scored the opening goal in the Premier League this season - winning six - so this could be a frustrating night for Forest from here.

It's raining goals in east Lancashire!

Burnley are back in it after a wonderful volley by Josh Laurent from an angle.

It comes after Armando Broja's headed assist. There is a VAR check for offside but Burnley fans are in full voice after it is cleared.

    Burnley 0-2 Newcastle

Signs in the last few moments that Burnley are starting to regroup after having the stuffing knocked out of them by those two early goals.

Marcus Edwards collects the ball inside his own half and then drives into the Newcastle half before firing just wide from outside the box.

    Enzo Fernández (23 mins)

Chelsea have turned this game on its head!

Enzo Fernández scores it, but is also involved in the build up as he works the ball out to Alejandro Garnacho, gets it back and then a nice touch gives him a bit of space and Fernandez sends the ball into the roof of the net.

Nice finish, frustration for Bournemouth after they had taken the lead.

It's so hard for Burnley, pretty much their entire identity in the Championship was that impenetrable defence. Now that it's being exposed in the Premier League they haven't been able to show their scoring side to compensate.

  16. Caicedo booked and out of Man City awaypublished at 19:51 GMT 30 December 2025

    Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport Chelsea reporter

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo picked up his fifth Premier League booking of the season and is now out for the upcoming trip to Manchester City.

The Ecuadorian also made a late challenge on Evanilson so needs to be careful not to pick up a red card here now.

Enzo Maresca was furious about the initial decision but eventually got one in his favour and the penalty was given by referee Sam Barrott after reviewing the pitch-side video monitor for a VAR check.

  17. 'Semenyo is almost irreplaceable'published at 19:50 GMT 30 December 2025

    Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

On Bournemouth being set to lose Semenyo:

Someone like Semenyo is almost irreplaceable. He drives them forward, scores the goals, gets assists as well. The energy, the enthusiasm, the way they counter attack and the tactical plan with how the manager sets them up. It is so frustrating for the manager.

    Burnley 0-2 Newcastle

Yoane Wissa is the 25th player to score on his first start for Newcastle in the Premier League.

His goal - and Newcastle's second - was timed at six minutes and 17 seconds.

This is the quickest that Newcastle have been 2-0 up away from home in a Premier League game.
