A Vila win tonight would be brilliant for the title race. How many years has it been since we’ve had a proper three-way fight?

Viktor Gyokeres heads over a Piero Hincapie cross.

He pulled off of Lindelof well there, he needs to do more of that.

If he was able to score tonight it would feel like a first goal in a really big game for Arsenal. It hasn't gone to plan for him at Arsenal so far.

  4. 'Good chance for Gyokeres'published at 20:22 GMT 30 December 2025

    Arsenal 0-0 Aston Villa

    Alan Smith
Former Arsenal forward on Sky Sports

That's a good chance. Arsenal have started this game really brightly.

    That's a centre forward's dream. A Gyokeres on form might've buried it.

Just to answer Dave's question. VAR did also check for a red card, but deemed a yellow was sufficient.

How has Dunk not been sent off for that handball? He’s blocked a goalbound shot from about five yards out?

It's been a lively evening in the Premier League so far. Will Old Trafford bring the same level of entertainment?

    Lucas Paqueta (45+3 mins)

That's how you do it! Lucas Paqueta's run-up is long and slow, but his eventual shot is fantastic, right into the corner, sending the keeper the wrong way.

What a way to finish this frantic first half.

Chelsea have now conceded more long throw-ins (4) than any other team in the Premier League.

The Blues have conceded from the first two of Antoine Semenyo's three cannons into the box.

It was probably expected that the winger, who is expected to join Manchester City this week, might make the headlines today but maybe not in this manner.
