  1. Man Utd need inspirationpublished at 20:40 GMT 30 December 2025

    Man Utd 0-0 Wolves

Manchester United have no creative spark at the moment.

Casemiro has played a couple of passes through the Wolves midfield but Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee both had their backs to goal.

Sesko played a pass to Diogo Dalot, who went backwards. Zirkzee tried a flick forward and gave possession back to Wolves.

The home side are not forcing Wolves to break out of their shape.

  2. Is Gyokeres the 'wrong guy' for Arsenal?published at 20:40 GMT 30 December 2025

    Arsenal 0-0 Aston Villa

    Statman Dave
Fantasy 606's football analyst and FPL expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

Looking at Gyokeres he's received just one pass so far, and that was when he lost the ball before the earlier Watkins chance.

Last season he had around 37 touches per game at Sporting, at Arsenal this season it's 23.

In the final third last season with Sporting he had 25 touches per game, at Arsenal it's dropped to 14.

If you want to buy a striker like Gyokeres you've got to get him the ball He's not a back to goal striker. It feels like Arsenal might have got the wrong guy.

Leandro Trossard is the scorer of important goals. It would take some doing to beat Emi Martinez from there, though.

Arsenal wideman Leandro Trossard gets the ball on the left, drifts in and drills in a shot from 20 yards out which is held by ex-Gunners man Emiliano Martinez.

Ref had to give it from that still, but I'm not convinced it's the right still. I think, from the bit shown, on that frame the ball isn't touching the arm, it's moving away having bounced off Dunk's shoulder. I'd have liked to see the same frame from side-on.

It is quite surprising to see Ruben Amorim revert to his old tactics. Manchester United's performances in the last couple of games have been improved. This has all been a bit stagnant so far.

    Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton

Callum Hudson-Odoi is spearheading Nottingham Forest's search for an equaliser at the start of the second half and wins his side a corner, but Jake O'Brien rises to clear the danger.

The Everton defence looks really up for this tonight, with O'Brien and centre-back partner James Tarkowski winning every duel they enter. Expect to see blocks being celebrated like goals if this is still 1-0 to the visitors in the closing stages.

Arsenal might as well lay out a red carpet right through the centre of midfield, Villa are breaking away so easily.

This is fantastic. We just need a goal.

I thought Villa would come here and sit back but they are going for it, both teams are.

Amorim just never learns. You get joy playing 4-2-3-1 and he reverts back to the system which has been producing the same turgid football week after week. We've been awful so far.

    Arsenal 0-0 Aston Villa

    Alex Howell
BBC Sport Arsenal reporter at Emirates Stadium

It's the travelling Aston Villa fans that are making all the noise so far.

Unai Emery's side have had the most dangerous chances in the match so far.

Amadou Onana is making Villa tick from midfield at the moment and Ollie Watkins is threatening in behind the backline.
