    Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague

Oh that's not good news for Micky van de Ven.

He clips Mojmir Chytil and goes into the book for it. That's an early booking for your central defender. In worse news for Spurs fans, it means he'll miss their next European match against Borussia Dortmund.

  2. Postpublished at 20:17 GMT 9 December 2025

    Atalanta 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are starting to build up some momentum. A clever run by Pedro Neto comes to nothing but then play is stopped after Raoul Bellanova goes down. That stoppage allows Enzo Maresca to dish out some instructions to his players.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Liverpool

Andy Robertson needed treatment after that challenge from Lautaro Martinez but the left-back is fine to carry on.

    Looked a painful one, though.

  4. Til puts PSV ahead against Atleticopublished at 20:15 GMT 9 December 2025

    PSV 1-0 Atletico Madrid

After a thumping win at Anfield in their last Champions League outing, PSV are at it again.

The Dutch side have taken an early lead against Atletico Madrid through Guus Til.

Couhaib Driouech was sent racing through on goal by a ball over the top and, with just Jan Oblak to beat, unselfishly squares for Til to roll the ball into an empty net.

Another swift attack nearly brings them a second but this time Driouech's first touch is loose and he skews the shot well wide.

Richarlison goes for goal again, this time striking from the edge of the area. But his effort is straight at the goalkeeper.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

One thing that suits Liverpool tonight is that Inter Milan like to play short passes, they aren't really a direct team that Liverpool have struggled against in recent weeks.

The structure and shape looks better, they look calmer and less gung-ho.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:14 GMT 9 December 2025

    Inter Milan 0-0 Liverpool

The ball is loose as Andy Robertson and Lautaro Martinez both race in for it.

Neither are willing to back out and the Inter captain flattens Robertson.

He picks up the first yellow card.

Union Saint-Gilloise have made a strong start against French side Marseille.

A brilliant ball from Cristian Romero from beyond the halfway line finds Mohammed Kudus, who holds the ball up well but is forced out and his shot from a tight angle is gathered by Jindrich Stanek.

  10. Postpublished at 20:12 GMT 9 December 2025

    Atalanta 0-0 Chelsea

Finally, a Chelsea attempt. It's a wild shot from long range by Enzo Fernandez which doesn't trouble Marco Carnesecchi at all.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:11 GMT 9 December 2025

    Inter Milan 0-0 Liverpool

We've got a stoppage in play here as Hakan Calhanoglu takes a knee. Looks to be struggling with his groin as Piotr Zielinski replaces him.

    A blow for Inter.

It's early doors but Liverpool have started strongly and are keeping the ball well.

That's playing a part in keeping the home support quiet.

Liverpool look calm and assured. For now, at least.

  14. Postpublished at 20:10 GMT 9 December 2025

    Inter Milan 0-0 Liverpool

This is already better from Liverpool.

Alexander Isak is seeing plenty of the ball and he feeds it to Joe Gomez high on the right. He plays a lovely cross to the near post but no one makes the run.

  15. Postpublished at 20:10 GMT 9 December 2025

After that early scare from Tottenham, Slavia Prague have managed to ride the wave somewhat.

Just out of interest, how are any young Liverpool players going to get experience if they can't even make the bench with four blank spaces?

Alexander Isak is too quick for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Liverpool win a free-kick.

Dominik Szoboszlai whips it in but doesn't beat the first man. Disappointing.

  20. 'Liverpool need to protect the back four'published at 20:06 GMT 9 December 2025

    Inter Milan 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Liverpool setup is interesting. It is a four at the back, but [Ryan] Gravenberch is a very deep-lying sitter. There is three pressing in front of them so they know that it is vulnerable there and they need to protect the back four.
