Any chance of us going up we need to get rid of Lampard tonight - clearly he’s run his course. Be lucky to finish in top 10 at this rate.

    Mark, Hinckley

Lampard out! Sick of his nice guy rubbish and not doing nothing to reverse this poor form. We are a bunch of bottle jobs and this form is pathetic and embarrassing. No excuses anymore, we have thrown this away.

After losing talismanic captain Barry Bannan to Millwall in midweek, Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen reacted to his side's 20th league defeat of the season, a 1-0 loss at home to Wrexham at lunchtime.

He said: "It has been a very, very difficult week this week for all. The transfer window has raised a lot of questions and then to bring this togetherness on the pitch, I have the biggest respect for the boys.

"We competed with a very competitive top six team with so much individual quality and you can only compete with Wrexham with a strong team."

On whether there would be any further departures this month, Pedersen added: "There is no players that have been told that need to leave. I hope we will keep them all."

Saints boss Tonda Eckert reflects on a comfortable 2-0 win at Stoke.

After ending a six-match winless streak on the road with a convincing win at Stoke, Saints head coach Tonda Eckert told BBC Radio Solent:

"It's a tough ground to come to. It's not an easy place to play. We knew how important this was and we've been working for so long to earn more clean sheets.

"I think you can see that we are moving forward. Today the dead ball situations were on our side and that's what makes a difference in the end.

"I definitely think we're going in the right direction first and foremost. Obviously there are many more games to play.

"You know how quick things change in both directions. We need to take the positive from the last game to make sure we continue, especially with the home games coming up."

The Stoke City manager speaks to Mark Elliott after their 2-0 home defeat to Southampton.

After a fifth home win without a win in the Championship, during which they have scored two goals, Stoke City boss Mark Robins told BBC Radio Stoke:

"When you come up against a really technical team who are really well fancied, they were on their game today and we weren't.

"We gave them a cheap first goal but when we got pinned back, we allowed them to do that. We have to learn from that.

"We came up against really good opponents that exploited some of our players playing out of position but we've got to be brave and show the determination that our supporters want us to show, to get into their faces and win tackles.

"They didn't have to do a great deal to win that game, they found it really easy and that was the most disappointing thing for us. [But] that is where we're at."

Andy King reacts to Leicester City's defeat against Charlton Athletic.

Leicester City suffered another home defeat after defender Caleb Okoli was sent off within 15 minutes against Charlton.

Interim Foxes boss Andy King told BBC Radio Leicester: “It’s always hard when you get a red card after 15 minutes.

"A lot of our prep work has gone out of the window then and it’s a long time to be defending with 10 men against a big, physical side.

“Then a senior midfielder gets injured, and we don’t know how long that will be.

"So it was a real disruptive first half and we went in 2-0 down, which was massively disappointing. You feel all the hard work you’ve done throughout the week has gone out the window.

“I said to them at half-time, ‘you’ve got two ways of playing this. We can either go under and show what we’ve been labelled as, and be soft and it can go to three, four or five. Or you can come out and show a bit of fight, try and galvanise our season a little bit’.

“We didn’t get back in the game, but I thought the response in the second half was good. With the penalty, if that had gone in, we’d really have had the momentum to go on and get back into the game.”

Addicks' boss Nathan Jones spoke to BBC's Louis Mendez after a big win at Leicester.

Charlton picked up a valuable away win at Leicester to end their nine-game winless run on the road and boost their Championship survival hopes.

Addicks manager Nathan Jones told BBC Radio London: “That’s a massive win, the result was everything today.

“It’s huge. Last week [losing 4-0 to Millwall] was damning, it was really hurtful to the football club.

"One, because of who we played, two, because of the manner of it and three, because we care.

"Look, I’m immersed in this football club, so it hurts me because I live and breathe this club, so I wanted to have a reaction today.

“Miles was clean in and got pulled back, a definite red. That kind of changed the complexion of the game, but I’m really pleased because we wanted to be aggressive against them and put it on them.

"We didn’t come here and try and sit back, we went after them and that’s what I want us to give.”

    • Derby County’s 5-0 win at Bristol City on Friday night was their biggest away league win since September 1959, a 5-0 victory at Plymouth in the second tier.
    • Caleb Okoli’s red card against Charlton today was Leicester’s earliest in a league match (15th minute) since Harry Maguire against Burnley in March 2019 (4th minute).
    • Sheffield Wednesday have failed to score in each of their past seven league games. It’s their longest run without a goal since December 2005 (also 7), while only between March/April 1975 have they gone longer (8 games).
    • Millwall have gained 50+ points (50) after 30 games of a second-tier season for the first time since 2001-02 (53), finishing that campaign fourth.
    • Portsmouth have won three of their past six Championship games (D2 L1), winning by 3+ goals in a league game for the first time in over a year, since a 4-0 victory on New Year’s Day 2025 against Swansea.
    • Middlesbrough have won five consecutive league games for the first time since October 2023, with no team winning more matches in the top four tiers so far in 2026 (Cambridge United also 5).

The last time Watford won a game was on New Year’s Day. At that point, they’d won three in a row over the festive period and were looking good for a solid promotion push.

But it’s five without a win since then, and today’s defeat is their third in that run.

Watford dominated the first half, but could not make it count. In the second half, goals from Marko Stamenic and Josh Key gave Swansea all three points, to secure just their fourth away win of the season.

Many Watford fans started to leave 10 minutes from the end and it is back to the drawing board for Javi Gracia’s side.

You can't defend the West Brom performance this afternoon as it was so poor.

Portsmouth dominated the game from start to finish and we never had any spells of pressure normally in games you have spells where you put the opposition under pressure.

The wheels are fully off the Coventry City bandwagon and the pressure is mounting by the day.

A 10-point lead at the summit has been erased by Middlesbrough, who did what the Sky Blues couldn't beating Norwich this week, while Lampard's men went down at out of form QPR.

Hull are up to third after seeing off Blackburn while Ipswich dropped points against Preston, the only good news for Coventry on the day.

Just five points separate eight teams in the race for the play-offs, with Wrexham holding onto sixth place at present, while at the bottom West Brom have sunk to 21st after being humbled at Portsmouth, and are within striking distance of Blackburn, who have a game in hand.

The Sky Blues squandered their lead, dropping more costly away points inviting Middlesborough to join them level at the summit.

QPR are suffering with so many injuries but having been wounded by injury time defeat last Saturday, displayed grit and resilience.

Two great goals and a deserved three points.
